Seriously. Facebook just put a ban on accounts for the Christian rock band Sweet Crystal because the lead singer’s name is Marq Andrew Speck. Why? Because his name has “Q An” in it and it is too close to “conspiracy” group QAnon.
This is how stupid Facebook is. And how kneejerk it is in banning anything it thinks might lean to the right.
QAnon, of course, is a movement that the media calls a “far right conspiracy group” mostly because they are big proponents of the so-called “Pizzagate” conspiracy (in which high-level members of the federal government in Washington are accused of running a child prostitution ring out of a DC pizzeria).
So, how did this Christian singer get connected to QAnon? Well, he didn’t except for the stupidity of Facebook.
Speck thinks that all the band’s accounts got deleted because his name is spelled “marQ Andrew speck.” Notice how his name has a “Q” and an “An” in it all in a row?
“So, because my profile disappeared, they all disappeared. They’re all gone,” Speck told WXYZ-TV. “That’s 11 years of my life and I have never posted anything political in my life. My stuff is all inspirational or videos, photos of the band, that kind of stuff. And it was just a kick in the gut.”
“There’s a q-a-n in a row, but that’s my name,” he added.
Speck added that the morons at Facebook said their deletion was final and he was done…. despite having nothing whatever to do with the QAnon movement.
“The hardest thing is people have passed from my life and we have memorial videos and stuff that were shot on Facebook, that only exist on Facebook, and they’re gone,” he said. “I can’t re-friend these people because they died and that’s heartbreaking.”
