Former Canadian PM Kim Campbell said she was ‘rooting for a direct hit‘ from Hurricane Dorian on Mar-a-Lago. Now she’s deleted the tweet and has issued a lame apology:
“I have deleted my tweet about the hurricane & Mar a Lago and sincerely apologize to all it offended. It was intended as sarcasm-not a serious wish of harm. Throwaway lines get a life of their own on Twitter. I shd know better. Mea culpa.”
It’s just too little, too late!
As Twitchy told you yesterday, former blink-and-you’d-miss-her Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell recently expressed her hope that Hurricane Dorian would bless Florida with “a direct hit on Mar a Lago [sic].”
Well, after having the night to sleep on it, Campbell’s come to her sense and deleted the tweet. She’s also explained — totally believably, of course — that she didn’t actually mean what she said. More

Twitter let loose on her:
You can delete the tweet, but you cannot delete the fall out. Expect it… you deserve it.

Even with an apology, the action was DONE. You actually thought it, wrote it, sent it. Please stay away from my country & my state. Many Floridians are nervous, trying to safeguard their homes & families; they don’t need “sarcasm” from an ally. Stay away from my @potus too. 🇺🇸

Too bad mainstream media got a hold of it eh? If it was sarcasm you wouldn’t have deleted. Lying piece of ……

Now apologies directly to @realDonaldTrump

A real apology would have included, “What I said was wrong, beyond the pale, and I’m seeking treatment for my mental illness that caused me to say such an inhuman, outrageous, grotesque thing.”https://t.co/DbGtDyoM43

It takes a special king of person to cheer for the mass destruction of entire communities in which people die while having their homes and their lives destroyed all so a political opponent will have their property destroyed.
I hope you can live with yourself in the aftermath.

Too little, too late! Your apology NOT accepted! Wishing death on people is not sarcasm!
— Lori Hendry (@Lrihendry) August 30, 2019
Why is it that these haters decide to vomit their poisonous hatred all over us on twitter, then when they start feeling the heat they delete and make these hollow apologies? Every. Single. Time.
— Obianuju Ekeocha (@obianuju) August 30, 2019
She may have deleted it- but her hate lives on! “I’m rooting for a direct hit on Mar a Lago!” AND: The next day, she said that she wished it would “shake up Trump’s climate change denial!” She meant every word!!! How sick are you, @AKimCampbell?!?!

The alcohol wore off. Congrats.

Please. We know you meant every word. You showed us who you really are. We will not forget. pic.twitter.com/WAXBgvWaCb

The point half these people are forgetting, it’s all fun and jokes until hundreds of thousands (or millions) lose their homes and possibly lives. We all “got the sarcasm” it just wasn’t funny.
