There’s “overwhelming opposition” among dozens of Democratic National Committee superdelegates to giving Sen. Bernie Sanders the Democratic presidential nomination if he wins a majority of delegates during the primary the New York Times reported.
Many high-profile Democratic Party officials, which includes 93 superdelegates, the paper found an “overwhelming” amount of pushback in giving Sanders the nomination.
Dozens of Democratic superdelegates say they’re willing to sacrifice party cohesion to prevent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders from becoming their party’s nominee at the Democratic National Convention in July.
“If 60% is not with Bernie Sanders, I think that says something, I really do,” Democratic Rep. Veronica Escobar of Texas told The Times.
Current forecasting models back up the superdelegates’ prediction of a contested convention — FiveThirtyEight’s model showed Thursday a 48% chance that no candidate comes out of the primaries and caucuses with a simple majority of delegates, despite Sanders’s current standing as the undisputed frontrunner with victories in New Hampshire and Nevada. Now we can see how much the Democratic Party actually values Democracy. They don’t. They are ready to ignore the will of their voters… again! If this happens, Bernie should run as independent, just to stick it to Democrats.
They can either give Bernie the nomination and watch President Trump win in a landslide or they can steal it from Bernie and let Milwaukee burn. Either way, President Trump wins re-election in one incredible night come November.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
