Historically, neither the Democrats nor Republicans, show much interest in fulfilling their oversight obligations to the taxpayer. Oversight only occurs when one party or the other wishes to poke their finger in the oppositions eye. If oversight were taken seriously in Washington, prisons would have cellblocks dedicated to Washington’s corrupt and incompetent.
Yesterday, rat faced California Congressman, Henry Waxman, dismissed a CNS News reporters query as a “propaganda question.”
The reporter’s question was relatively simple. He asked Waxman if he had read all of the 10,535 pages of Obamacare regulations published in the federal registry. I would bet my house that Rep. Waxman, like most of our federal legislature, never reads a bill before they vote on it much less the regulations that most laws spawn.
Moreover, why would he? He is elected by the folks in California. The patron state of worry about it later.
To be fair, Waxman is in good company these days. Many ranking Republicans are just as dismissive about the publics “propaganda questions.” Neither party gives a hoot for keeping Americans informed or accepting their fair share of responsibility for over complicated legislation that fuels Washington’s power grip on American lives.
It seems that everything is now a state secret, even our laws.
Government oversight—a primary responsibility of our elected officials—is non-existent today. Unless of course an immigrant explodes a backpack bomb, an NSA contractor defects to Russia, or four American lives are lost over an Executive Branch plot to arm Al Qaeda. Then the proverbial guano hits the fan on Capitol Hill. Yet, no one is caught, arrested, tried, fired or imprisoned. Imagine that.
Obamacare regulations threaten penalties for non-compliance that include tax liens on your home and property. There is no review or appellate process. Failure to comply, failure to pay and they (the IRS) will eventually pursue steps to take your home. All to pay for health insurance for those who would like nothing more than to live of the sweat and sacrifices of others forever.
I have a propaganda question for Rep. Waxman. How did private property confiscation escape—then Chairman—Henry Waxman’s House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in 2008 and 2009? Apparently, Democrats only read their own propaganda. Not the laws they demand Americans bow to.
Prolific legislation, laws that grow and exceed their original purpose and intent, are destroying our nation. Asking legitimate questions—reporting facts and revealing the unholy alliance that is Washington—is a moral, and yes, legal responsibility of elected legislators. Failure to do so is a criminal act.
Section 4 of Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution demands national attention. The penalty for official misconduct I.e. abuse of authority, bribery, intimidation, misuse of assets, failure to supervise, dereliction of duty, conduct unbecoming, and refusal to obey a lawful order is a high crime and misdemeanor and requires removal from office.
We live in times shaped by America’s ambivalence, and we have forgotten that, as a people, we have the power to confiscate our government’s power. We are the stewards of our freedoms and liberty. The 21st Century can be a turning point for our nation. We can turn to the propaganda merchants or we can demand the enforcement of laws that hold them accountable.
They exist, and that ain’t propaganda.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
