Thirty-four year old U.S. citizen Wade Hicks prepared to visit his wife, a Navy lieutenant stationed in Okinawa, Japan, via a military flight. However, after flying to Hawaii and stopping to refuel, Hicks prepared to reboard the plane, but was quickly escorted back off by armed guards. He then was interrogated in a secure room and he was informed that he would not be flying anywhere because his name had turned up on a no-fly list. So Hicks was stranded in Hawaii without a way to get to his wife or back home.
