With ammunition at not only a seasonal low, but also low because of the fear of unconstitutional Federal laws being looked at, it has now come to light that the Department of Homeland Security is once again soliciting for another 240,000 more rounds of ammunition. This is in addition to the billions of rounds already solicited just last year by the Federal government, including DHS. It’s getting more and more difficult for citizens to purchase any ammo, let alone in bulk, but it looks like there may be plenty of businesses and front groups that are willing to provide “Big Sis” with all the ammunition they want.
A solicitation posted yesterday on the Fed Bid website details how the bullets are required for the DHS Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, New Mexico.
DHS is looking to purchase 100,000 pistol cartridge .40 caliber 165 grain, jacketed hollow point bullets and 100,000 9mm 115 grain jacketed hollow point bullets.
The solicitation also includes 40,000 pistol cartridge 9mm ball bullets.
Just recently DHS put in a solicitation for 7,000 “personal defense weapons” that shoot 5.56 NATO ammunition that have “fire select” capability along with high capacity 30 round magazines. Remember these are for “homeland” use, not foreign.
Back in December DHS solicited for 250 million rounds of .40 caliber ammunition.
In September, DHS solicited for nearly 200 million rounds of sniper ammunition.
Last month the Evian Group, an organization that was formed just five days before DHS put out an announcement of solicitation for ammunition, was awarded the contract for 200,000 round of ammunition. James Smith reports,
The winner of this contract is Evian Group, Inc. located at 105 South Eastern Ave, Las Vegas Nevada.
Well congratulations Evian Group, you’ve shown the Federal Government what it means to be naïve.
It seems that the Evian Group was formed on December 12, 2012, just 5 days before the announcement of the solicitation.
Smith’s report is a good one demonstrating that the Evian group appears to be a front group with no building or capability for manufacturing of ammunition.
So the question remains, why is a domestic agency of the United States Federal government purchasing such large caches of ammunition in a short period of time? Yes, I’m aware that agents much qualify and practice, but seriously this seems to be getting a bit out of hand, especially to be used in American soil. I’ll leave you to your own conclusions.
UPDATE: The article has been updated to reflect the actual number of the solicitation to 240,000 due to the fact that there was a misreading of the Roman numerals used in the solicitation. However, please note the previous solicitations are correct. They were in the millions.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
