Despite media-driven divide, 70% of America agrees on one thing

It can be a hard pill to swallow at times, but We The People are falling for one of the oldest tricks in the book.

You see, on a daily basis we find ourselves bombarded with reasons to despise on another.  This is particularly prevalent in the world of politics, where many of us have ascribed to the false dichotomy of “left versus right”.  There is a reason for this, and it is both nefarious and simple:  United we stand, divided we fall.

By allowing politicians and their pundit pals to divide this nation into silly, arbitrary teams, they pit us against one another, weakening our patriotism and pride.  It’s the sort of tactic that the British government would have killed for back in the 1770’s, and we’re walking straight into the slaughterhouse ourselves in 2019 thanks to the constant media pressure to rile us up.

The overwhelming majority of Americans said that they remain angry at the political establishment, according to a poll released Sunday.

Seventy percent of Americans said they feel mad “because our political system seems to only be working for the insiders with money and power, like those on Wall Street or in Washington.”

Forty-three percent of Americans said that statement describes them “very well.”

For many, the outdated and purposefully divisive idea of being on either Team A or Team B is growing dangerous.  This is what is leading us into the patriotically sound concept of being Americans first and foremost, and neutering the political power structures of Washington DC by refusing to play their game.
