Democrats Can’t Decide Between the Affordable Care Act and Obamacare

Ever wonder why Hillary Clinton got so many votes? Is it because democrats love Hillary? Ummm…no. Many dems maintained a severe dislike for Clinton personally, but she was the one on the ballot not named Trump. That and they don’t want their government freebies revoked.

But there is another reason, and it is more disconcerting then just being a lifelong democrat or a layabout. Democrats are the least informed voters in the nation. I hesitate to say they are stupid. That’s not it. Many dems are otherwise very intelligent. Rather, democrats are just hopelessly ill-informed.

For proof of this, late night Talk Show host Jimmy Kimmel had his people hit the streets of Los Angeles, not once, but twice, to demonstrate just how little the average man or woman on the street knows of Obama’s most recognizable initiative – Obamacare.

Yesterday, I posted an article about Rosie O’Donnell wishing to suspend Trump’s inauguration by invoking martial law. Much like Kimmel, Pam Geller’s American Freedom Defense Initiative sent a reporter to the streets of Manhattan to discover most were in favor of “martial law,” despite not knowing what it is. Their reasoning: Anything that might thwart Trump.

Turns out that those wandering the streets of L.A. aren’t any more informed than those in Manhattan.

In 2013, Kimmel dispatched a camera crew to Hollywood boulevard “to ask people which they thought was better – the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Obamacare.”

The overwhelming majority of interviewees claimed they preferred ‘the Affordable Care Act.” When asked why he preferred the ACA, one man summed up the national ignorance rather succinctly by exclaiming: “just the name says it all.”

Just a few days ago, Kimmel repeated his 2013 experiment, “to see if Americans have learned anything over the last three years.”

Turns out – Nope – not a thing. The first one out of the gate was actually a Trump supporter who, because she disliked Obama, didn’t care for Obamacare, but preferred the ACA. Likewise the majority again sided with the ACA because it contained the word “Affordable.”

Is it any wonder that our country is in the shape it’s in. And these people vote. Just how do I know these people were almost all democrats? Easy – these were the streets of L.A. and Manhattan. You do the math.

Citizens like these, and there are surely millions of them all over the country, are evidently capable of being sold anything, with little more than a slogan or sound-bite. It is the very reason progressives in both parties come up with these ridiculous sounding names for the bills they put forth.

Government hacks could advance a bill that would mandate eradicating every squirrel in the nation, but by calling it the “Green Space Wildlife Revitalization Act,” people would overwhelmingly and enthusiastically support it – because “just the name says it all.” I mean – who could be against “Wildlife Revitalization?”

There is absolutely nothing “affordable” about the Affordable Care Act, but by merely calling it affordable, many are satisfied. So sad.
