The Idaho Governor Brad Little vows to fight a court ruling requiring the state to provide gender reassignment surgery for an inmate.
Gov. Brad Little wrote on Facebook: “The court’s decision is extremely disappointing. The hardworking taxpayers of Idaho should not be forced to pay for a convicted sex offender’s gender reassignment surgery when it is contrary to the medical opinions of the treating physician and multiple mental health professionals. I intend to appeal this decision to the U.S Supreme Court. We cannot divert critical public dollars away from the higher priorities of keeping the public safe and rehabilitating offenders.”
Idaho Gov. Brad Little (R) vowed to fight a court decision Friday ruling that the state must provide a multi-thousand dollar gender reassignment surgery for a convicted sex offender.
“She suffers every single day while they have denied this treatment to her for years and there can be no reason justifying Idaho’s continued refusal to provide her care except bias,” Edmo’s attorney Lori Rifkin said, according to Fox 13.
The court ruled that the state’s refusal to provide surgery violated the Eighth Amendment.
Per Fox 13: In an 85-page opinion, the panel ruled that the state of Idaho must provide gender reassignment surgery to Edmo, writing that “responsible prison officials were deliberately indifferent to Edmo’s gender dysphoria, in violation of the Eighth Amendment.” More
So this is what we’ve come to, a pedophile abusing boys, is whining about his rights to cut off his body parts on the state’s dime.
I have no issue if these folks want to go through a reassignment process, but as a taxpayer, we should not be the one footing the bill for it.
They are the ones electing to make the change, they should be the ones paying for it too. He is not entitled to anything but basic healthcare.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
