Question: If conservatives are such losers, why do the Democrats wish to dispatch them so early? If the voters consider conservatives and the Tea Party a bunch of Bible thumping hayseed extremists, why don’t the Dems root for their success in the primaries?
Why doesn’t Democrat strategist Joe Trippi jump on the Matt Bevin bandwagon – try to defeat the great Mitch McConnell – thus enabling the Democrats to defeat the “fringe” Bevin in the general election?
After all, no one in their right mind would vote for a “Wacko Bird” (thank you John McCain) like Matt Bevin. But that’s not going to happen.
And why? It’s because the left will always tell you with whom they are afraid. The more afraid they are of an opponent, the more they appear to discount that opponent. That’s their tell – to put it in poker terms.
Sarah Palin was/is a rube from Alaska. She lacked the “gravitas” of say… Uncle Joe Biden. That’s a good one, eh?
They know that real conservatives, with a true conservative message can and do win general elections. The Dems also know that they can deal with reasonable aisle crossers and back room dealers like McConnell and that conservatives like Cruz and Lee will more than likely, not play ball.
The establishment Republican jackals, like the architect Karl Rove, who hasn’t engineered a winning election since 2004, just attack conservatives the old-fashioned way. They dig up dirt on conservatives, whether true or false; it doesn’t matter. They prop up and promote moderate RINO candidates and claim they are the only ones who can win. Which, of course, they never do. And increasingly, the once reliable Fox News appears to have been co-opted by the moderates.
The other day on Fox, the faux conservative Mike Huckabee interviewed the even less conservative Jeb Bush, pushing him as the face of the Republican Party. Oh yeah! Just what we need. Another Bush.
So what if conservatives do defeat their moderate Republican opponents in the primaries? What if Bevin does defeat McConnell?
Will the establishment get behind Bevin? They may do publicly – but behind the scene – they will collude and conspire with the Dems and the media to defeat Bevin. They will do whatever it takes – because winning isn’t everything. Winning with the “wrong” candidate is worse than losing.
The fact is, the GOP establishment doesn’t mind losing and doesn’t mind being the minority party, as long as the correct people retain their seats.
I suppose I could respect that point of view – if they were honest about it.
I’m personally done with voting for big government, progressive Republicans. Everyone knows where I stand.
I think we would all have more respect for the Rove coalition if they just exclaimed, “Look – we are not conservatives. We like big government. We like to be in control. We like the power and money. Vote for us!”
As for the Democrats – just watch and listen for whom they belittle the most. More often than not, that’s who we should be voting for because, more often than not; he or she is the most conservative.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
