Perhaps there is hope for the upcoming generation. Students at the University of Colorado – Boulder, which sits in the heart of what is arguably a very liberal college town, were asked who they blamed for the ongoing government shutdown.
Caleb Bonham of Campus Reform asked the students if they blames the GOP, Democrats or Barack Obama for the government shutdown.
She wanted to get rid of the individual mandate that Barack Obama and the Democrats want to impose on every single American citizen, except themselves.
Ah, she gets it. She gets the reason for the stand against a spending bill that funds the trainwreck that bears Barack Obama's name.
One female student blamed both parties. "They can't agree on anything. I know pre-schoolers who get along better than the Democrats and Republicans."
She was followed by another male student who made his mark in the GOP column.
Bonham asked if it was normal that Obama and the Democrats get blamed like this and one female student said she didn't think so, but added "I'm glad."
One male student said that Obama was being "stubborn" and "not really negotiating at all or getting any ideas from anybody else. It's either his way or the highway."
The clip ends with Barack Obama blaming House Republicans for the government shutdown.
Frankly, I don't care who is responsible. The government shutdown has been a good thing. It should have saved American taxpayers lots of money and demonstrated that the world goes on without Big Government. It also demonstrated just how many non-essential personnel in the federal government we have that need to be permanently furloughed. Finally, it demonstrated the Barack Obama has to manufacture pain in the form of barricades and closing national parks in order to make it appear as though there is an effect from the partial government shutdown.
I think these students get it and I'm sure they are not the only ones.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter. You can also get Freedom Outpost delivered to your Amazon Kindle device here.
