Coffee Pot? Entrepreneur Combines Coffee and Marijuana

Since recreational marijuana became legal in Washington state, entrepreneurs are creating a budding industry in new edibles, including one combining coffee and marijuana.

Adam Stites of Longview, Wash. has come up with a line of cold-brewed coffee-infused drinks he cleverly called “Legal” beverages.

It’s amazing what the free market has done with the legal marijuana industry in Washington and Colorado.

“The coffee drinks give you an uplifting head high. We call it the wake and bake drink,” he told

Each bottle has about 20 mg of THC, which he said is intended to be enough to give consumers a pleasant high, but won’t make them completely baked.

The beverages will be regulated by the state, just like any other marijuana product. Stites has applied for a producer and processor license and expects approval pending final state inspection in the next few weeks.

He hopes to also launch a line of pot-infused sparkling juices.
