Whether you have a military background, like myself, or are strictly a victim of Corporate America, most of us are familiar with the concept of “Falling on One’s Sword.”
It is the “ultimate act of loyalty”…or is it?
“Back in The Day,” when I was a highly paid Con-Sultant to the Reagan Administration, one of my “clients” was a certain Marine Corp Lieutenant Colonel, whose career came to an abrupt end due to the political winds of the time. Given my small advantage as an observer with some insights, it was my determination that what the colonel did was to “fall on his sword” in the act of his ultimate loyalty; not to a person, but to his country.
When former Secretary of State Colin Powell went before the United Nations to make a case for our involvement in Iraq, I was massively disappointed because I felt that he had just publicly forsaken all semblance of personal honor and integrity because of his years of conditioning to obey the “Chain of Command” which at that time began and ended with the Office of The President of The United States. And when he resigned his position barely two years later, I saw that not as an act of “Falling on One’s Sword” so much as possibly an expression of regret for his involvement in the Iraq fiasco.
On April 2, 2014, I watched former deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Michael J. Morell testify before congress about the Benghazi debacle and the subsequent avalanche of mis-information propagated by the Obama Regime.
As I watched this person testify, my first thought was that this hearing should have been held the day before, on April Fool’s Day. As I watched his carefully prepared statements flow like an open sewer pipe through a cafeteria, I could not help but ask myself, just how stupid does this person think our Congress really is or is it possible that our Congress really is that stupid?
Being second generation military intelligence (hold the oxymoron comments) that I am biased on such things. Although I live in lovely Las Vegas and am not a betting sort of guy, I would be willing to wager that if you took any street kid off the streets of Los Angeles, or New York, or Chicago or any manor city and sit them down with a full “sit-rep” (situation report) as of September 1, they would accurately predict the events of September 11, 2012.
The fact that the Benghazi hearings continue can only be attributed to the fact that not ALL members of Congress are THAT stupid.
The business of Intelligence Analysis is more science than art (been there, done that). Basically one starts with as many even remotely related “data points” (facts) and toss in as many “unsubstantiated” (not yet proven) data points and extrapolate as many potential trajectories as makes sense. Given what the current regime has admitted to know as of September 1, any sane and rational person would have removed all Americans from the country immediately; not put our nation’s representatives in a remote location that was all but impossible adequately to defend. Mr. Morell stated that the only “editing” he did was to remove the word “Muslim” from in front of the word “extremist” in the talking points because “there were demonstrations all over that part of the world because of the video.” Ex-Freaking-Scuze-Me! If such were the case, was the lame-stream media suppressing that information as well? I have lived in that part of the world and if the “extremists” were not Muslim, they would be DEAD extremists.
As I watched Michael Morell testify, I thought perhaps this fool was “Falling on His Sword,” until it came out that he will have a significant position in the Hillary Clinton Campaign.
Think about it. This individual will have potentially full access to the resources of the CIA while he is working for the Hillary Clinton organization.
First and foremost, what he did was to protect what is most assuredly a very lucrative future position. To me, his statement in front of congress was indeed a statement of fact; the fact that either he is an incompetent fool and / or he is a man with no moral compass or if he does have a compass, it points due south – as in the direction he knowingly intends to divert this nation – straight down the drain of history.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
