Chris Matthews: Paul Ryan’s Pro-Life Views Are ‘Almost Like Sharia’

Chris Matthews, liberal extraordinaire, blasts away on the abortion issue before the debate on Tuesday evening, even referring to Paul Ryan’s position as “almost like Shariah.” This is what happens when people don’t have a biblical worldview and are able to actually identify when life begins.

Matthews stated that he thinks it’s the “hottest issue that’s not been exploited.” He claims he means exploitation to be used in a “positive” sense. He did not understand how Barack Obama could not bring it up in the debate seeing as how he is so pro-abortion that he is even willing to murder born babies.

Of course, Matthews doesn’t take on the position of Mitt Romney, who helped legislate through Romneycare tax payer funded abortions and who claims to be pro-life though he supports abortions for rape and incest, but rather took on his running mate Paul Ryan. Ryan, who has had a fairly straightforward pro-life voting record believes as I do, that life begins at conception. This is the biblical understanding as well.

Matthews goes on to say the Republican ticket wants to give life, liberty and property rights, via the Fourteenth Amendment to babies that have been conceived, even immediately following sexual intercourse.

The Fourteenth Amendment, Section 1. states:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Granted the text does use the term “born” but does not specify when life begins and so that must be defined. If asked, I doubt Matthews could actually define when a baby gets life!

He says that to have a notion that a fertilized egg would be understood to be a person, under the “personhood thing that Ryan is pushing and under the Fourteenth Amendment rights that Romney’s running on….this is extremism. It’s almost like Shariah!”

Matthews went on to say that they are saying to the country that we’re going to operate under a religious theory, a religious belief. He even declares that this will make the “woman’s reproductive rights” and her “choice” to murder her baby (my words, not his) criminal. Declaring an unlawful act legal does not make it right.

Well first, that isn’t the platform Romney is running on. That is the GOP platform, yes, but Romney is already removing himself from what has historically been “pro-life.” It is Paul Ryan’s stance personally and I agree with that position.

But extremism? Really? Shariah? Come on! If there is an extremist, it’s Chris Matthews.

Let me put it bluntly. We operate under a religious theory and religious beliefs constantly in this country and all countries. Our Constitution is a document based upon a covenant, only in the document we replaced God, the lawgiver with “We the People.” Now we find ourselves operating under the religion of humanism and even atheism (Yes those are religions as well).

We cannot escape religious beliefs in the civil sphere for morality becomes defined in our very laws. Laws state what is right and wrong and they also determine punishment for violation of those laws.

I agree with Matthews on one thing. The issue needs to be discussed. It needs to be brought out on the table, but people are only thinking about an economy, jobs and cash flow. I understand that, but abortion, the murder of the most innocent among us and yes, even in the case of rape and incest, has great economic impact and that is in addition to the fact that it takes life and often psychologically affects women, not to mention a few hundred dollars are taken for the dirty deed.

While on the upswing a child may render thousands of dollars to doctors, hospitals and mid-wives when born, via their parents and in the long run of their lives, if properly reared by those same parents, will be fruitful and bless the community around them with inventions, work, skills and other traits that they possess. This is what God intended, but this is what Matthews and others like him oppose. This is not Shariah. This is simply life an logic.
