Chris Keniston – The Man Who Should Be President

Of course, you will not hear about him on the nightly news, you will not see his face plastered all over the internet, and you will not find him pandering to the cameras. At the moment, you will not even find him on YouTube! He still has not conquered his discomfort at talking to his phone like it is a person. (I’m working on that!) However, his running mate, Deacon Taylor, is a seasoned veteran on YouTube and he posts regularly on Facebook.

Chris is just like the rest of us. He is a husband and father, he is still working the 9 to 5 job, he still mows the lawn and folds laundry. He is a Veteran, loyal American, and he believes in the greatness of this country. He believes that the only way to return America to her former glory is to return to the words of our Founding Fathers, the Constitution. Prior to joining the Veterans’ Party of America, he was never affiliated with another political party. This guy could be your neighbor, your co-worker, your brother.

In a Cooler Exclusive Interview, I asked him a few pointed questions, like what about term limits? He told me, “the people ARE the term limits” and he is right. It is our responsibility to not allow politicians to languish in office for 20 years or more. He told me, there are two parties, but one agenda, and all politicians have zero regard for the American people. The American voters should never feel like they have to choose between the lesser of the two evils or that their vote is wasted. He believes in campaign reform, that only registered voters should be able to donate to a candidate. He would like to see an end to the corporate entities controlling elections.

I asked about the militant, splintered, special interest groups. Chris said,“There should be zero divisions between people. We have to embrace our common humanity. We are not powerless, there is a power within, and it is up to us how we use it.”

I bluntly asked him about God. He contemplated his answer carefully,“Our Divine Creator is our heritage and we must give proper credit to our Creator.” His favorite Bible scriptures are more revealing, from the Old Testament:

Joshua 1:9 “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

From the New Testament:

I Corinthians, Chapter 13
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there beknowledge, it shall vanish away.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

12019973_1623625524553578_608474564683439525_nHe surprised me when I asked him about his views on marijuana. He is for decriminalizing it, that it should be a Schedule II drug and that more research needs to be done on the medical benefits. He said that it is also a State’s Rights issue. He is not a big fan of Big Pharma. He is not a fan of the Affordable Healthcare Act (aka Obamacare), either, particularly since he and his family are currently covered by it.

He would not comment on the Federal Reserve, except to say that it would be a “massive undertaking” to reform the central banking system. The tax code would be simplified dramatically under his administration, with a consumption tax (sales tax) on everything but necessities. The Department of Education would be repurposed to the state level and common core would be terminated. I asked about the NSA, CIA, DHS, FBI and the rest of the ‘spook’ agencies, he laughed and said they would function as any law enforcement agency should and that is to “serve and protect”. I let him slide on that answer, even though it was evasive.

I asked about Medicare and Social Security and his tone of voice changed, he said that the current handling of both were a “breach of contract at it’s worst!” I did not ask how he was going to fix it, I figured with that tone, he had a plan. Chris is very even tempered. He has this strong, masculine voice, but it is quiet, soothing, with a hint of a southern accent.

I did not ask many questions on foreign policies. He is a Veteran, he knows what is going on in the world, and strategically how to handle any military situation. He said he would rebuild the damaged relationships with our “traditional alliances”. And then he shocked the hell out of me when he said, “We do not need the UN…”

Chris Keniston is not a politician. He is not in the top one percent of the one percent. He does not have the luxury of campaigning all over the country. He is not out there promising everyone everything. He, his running mate, Deacon Taylor, and the Veterans’ Party of America are financing this campaign as the IRS drags their feet issuing the proper paperwork for them to be able to accept donations. He is not going to tell you exactly what you want to hear, he is going to tell you what you need to hear. Chris Keniston is not only the man who should be President, he is the man “WE THE PEOPLE” need to be President.
