New York City is a wild place, at times, and has long been a lightning rod of cultural controversy.
The ultra-liberal metropolis has consistently drawn the ire of the remainder of the state, given that the sheer enormity of the population in The Big Apple tends to sway the politics of the entirety of New York State hard to the left. For rural New Yorkers outside of NYC, this has created new hurdles in terms of the Second Amendment – among other things.
And, as a cultural hub for the world, New York City has its fair share of bizarre happenings.
The latest stunning bit of news from the Five Burroughs has many a New Yorker furious, however.
Videos showing New York City police officers being doused with water while responding to calls over the weekend have gone viral online – and sparked widespread outrage in the city. One video, taken in Harlem over the weekend, shows two officers being doused with water and pelted with empty buckets while making an arrest.
NYPD Chief Terrence Monahan responded to the incident on Twitter. “The videos of cops being doused with water and having objects hurled at them as they made an arrest in #Harlem is reprehensible,” Monahan wrote. “NYC’s cops & communities have made remarkable progress — together — but EVERY New Yorker MUST show respect for our cops. They deserve nothing less.”

No arrests have been made in this incident, nor in a similar dousing that occurred just days prior.
Mayor Bill de Blasio, who has been noticeably absent in NYC during his low-polling 2020 presidential campaign, warned residents that such actions could lead to arrest.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
