Could Bible Cookies be Deemed Unconstitutional?

I regret to inform you that insanity is once again being visited on American youth in government schools.

A California teacher is being called into question for allegedly handing out “Bible cookies” as rewards and promoting an after-school Bible club he helps to facilitate.

John Alameda, a teacher at New Vision High School in Stockton, California, is being accused of “unlawful proselytization,” according to a small, misnamed “First Amendment group” that has charged Mr. Alameda with violating “Separation of Church and State.”

Trending: Duck Duck Go’s far-left political donations and abuse of user data have users FUMING

But please note that the words “Separation,” “Church,” or “State” are not found in the First Amendment. I will grant the word “of” is used 5 times.

This is just another attack on Christianity. These attacks have become a pet of media and paper-tiger, un-American, atheist groups.

We should not be afraid of these attacks. As a matter of fact, we should use them as stepping-stones to set the higher standard of education and Constitutional awareness that unfortunately escapes many well-intended, good-thinking Americans.

God-given rights exist and have been protected in America since its inception. As a matter of fact, we can no more wish for liberty in our country without God, than a human can wish to breathe oxygen unassisted on the moon!

The very first presupposition of American law and government – found in the beginning of the Declaration of Independence – declares there is a God! Our founders continued to presuppose that our rights come from God and the purpose of civil government is to protect those God-given rights.

Imagine with me that all the public institutions in the nations would one day rebel against Americans and submit their allegiance to the foreign nation of China or Russia. From that point forward, all directives, powers, and laws would come directly from the men of those foreign countries. That would be treason and every official would suffer the full penalty for the crime they committed.

I submit to you this is exactly what these atheist groups are promoting. Their desire is to see our public institutions subject themselves to another authority other than the Providential hand that President Thomas Jefferson acknowledged during his second Inaugural Address:

“I shall need, too, the favor of that Being in whose hands we are, who led our forefathers, as Israel of old, from their native land, and planted them in a country flowing with all the necessaries and comforts of life.”

Our very government institutions derive their purpose from God and are accountable to God, under oath, to protect the rights that God has given to us.

I conclude with the words of President George Washington from his Farewell Address in 1796:

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men & citizens.” (Emphasis added.)
