The common misconceptions regarding the Second Amendment have now come full circle, as 2020 candidate Beto O’Rourke has shown.
O’Rourke, who is famous for his constant, shallow reinventions of himself, had recently made wake in the crowded field of candidates by exclaiming proudly that, “Hell yes we’re going to take your AR-15”.
This blatant gun confiscation proposal not only roused the republican right, but also irked his fellow democrats who, for years, have been working to shed this sort of imagery.
Now Beto has doubled down, and he has bolstered the Second Amendment in the process.
Democrat presidential hopeful Robert “Beto” O’Rourke responded to those who want to keep their AR-15s by asking why they do not pursue ownership of a bazooka as well.
O’Rourke’s comment came after a gun-totting mother in Aurora, Colorado, told him that he was not taking her guns.
O’Rourke later took to Twitter and wrote, “A woman in CO told me ‘hell no’ she won’t give back her AR-15. I listened, but by her logic: Why shouldn’t you be allowed to have a bazooka or a tank?”
Great question, buddy.
The Second Amendment exists as an insurance policy for Americans. Our right to bear arms exists so that we may compete with any threats to our democracy, foreign or domestic. We very literally should be allowed to own whatever it takes to stay competitive against tyranny.
In the strictest definition of the Second Amendment, the populace of this nation should be able to defend itself against any military might it could face…bazookas or not.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
