With nearly two dozen democrats vying for the 2020 presidential nomination, there is little doubt that things are bound to get downright dirty.
The democratic party has a history of such behavior, with 2016’s rigged primaries being just the latest example of such leftist debauchery. In that case, a cannibalistic greed by eventual nominee Hillary Clinton saw her campaign completely rout Bernie Sanders, with the help of the DNC.
It seems that this sort of infighting could become the new normal for the democrats, however, as the bloated and unwieldy field for 2020’s election has shown us.
The latest insider attacks come to us from Beto O’Rourke, whose slippery slope to obscurity has only been mitigated by his recent rabble-rousing against fellow democrats.
“You cannot go back to the end of the Obama administration and think that that’s good enough,” O’Rourke said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “As much of a horror show as Trump has been — his racism, the disaster of his foreign policy, his punishment of farmers and workers here in this country, we had real problems before Donald Trump became president.”
“You had folks who were working two and three jobs just to make ends meet. You had ten times the wealth in white America than you had in black America,” he continued.
Beto then turned his attention to the Second Amendment.
“You had nearly 40,000 gun violence deaths in this country every single year without any meaningful reform to our gun safety laws … And within the Obama Administration, 400,000 people deported from this country in one year alone destroying families and breaking up communities. So we cannot return to the past. We cannot simply be about defeating Donald Trump.”
Beto is polling well behind the frontrunners of the democratic party, with the aforementioned Joe Biden far and away the democratic favorite at this early stage.
