Times are turning dire in Mexico as of late, as incredibly powerful drug cartels continue to wreak havoc across the nation.
The sheer scope of these cartels is incredible. They’ve infiltrated police departments as well as the local governments who employ them, allowing many of these murderous cretins free rein to do as they please. Those who oppose them are often made examples of, with their bodies hung brutally on display after meeting their fate.
Those authorities who do stand up to these criminals are often outgunned and outmanned, creating enormous pockets of lawlessness throughout Mexico – including in towns and cities bordering the United States.
Such is the case again this week, and the violence has prompted American authorities to issue a stark warning to those considering a trip south.
A Texas border area sheriff issued an alert via social media warning residents to not cross into the Mexican border city of Nuevo Laredo following several hours of shootouts between cartel gunmen and police.
On Wednesday evening, Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar took to Facebook to warn residents about crossing into Nuevo Laredo due to information about ongoing gun battles. Cuellar’s post notes there were reports of “heavy-caliber” machine guns in use and numerous carjackings.
The warning came complete with photos of the chaos.
The cartels in Nuevo Laredo despicably targeted civilian shopping centers, where patrons were forced to hide out for hours in stores and businesses.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
