Derek J. Howell, Esq., is an attorney, former State Trooper, course instructor and Director of Operations for Institute on the Constitution. He also serves as an adjunct professor and adjunct faculty member at two colleges and a seminary in Maryland. Derek is currently a State Senate candidate for the Maryland General Assembly. Derek is a decorated former Maryland state trooper. He spent over ten years with the Maryland State Police in various positions, including working undercover, before leaving to obtain his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Derek earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees, both with honors, from the Johns Hopkins University. Derek is a Christian, husband to his wonderful wife, and the father of two enjoyable boys.
