Attorney General Barr is “monitoring” government officials cracking down on religious services amid the coronavirus pandemic and is ready to take “action.”
During this sacred week for many Americans, AG Barr is monitoring govt regulation of religious services. While social distancing policies are appropriate during this emergency, they must be applied evenhandedly & not single out religious orgs. Expect action from DOJ next week!

Barr spokeswoman Kerry Kupec made the announcement on Twitter, writing, “During this sacred week for many Americans, AG Barr is monitoring govt regulation of religious services. While social distancing policies are appropriate during this emergency, they must be applied evenhandedly & not single out religious orgs. Expect action from DOJ next week!”
The move comes as some government officials around the country have clamped down on church services and have even threatened to permanently close churches if they do not practice social distancing. More
Section 242 of Title 18 makes it a crime for a person acting under color of any law to willfully deprive a person of a right or privilege protected by the Constitution.
The offense is serious and punishable by a range of imprisonment up to a life term.https://t.co/VAftxwXS2Y

Hope he follows through. As for those calling for churches to close – how about you stay at home and don’t go out. Let others worship how they see fit, especially if they’re practicing “social distancing.” If they get sick, it’s on them.

As long as they modify seating arrangements, social distance and wear masks I am all for it. They should have never messed with the parking lot cat services.
