As a deadly and novel strain of coronavirus continues to ravage the Far East, there are concerns that the illness could make its way stateside in just a matter of weeks.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has warned that the “spread” of coronavirus here in the United States is likely inevitable, which has many within the federal government using the virus as a way to push their political points.
Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has never been one to miss an opportunity to bash the administration, and is now using Mike Pence’s appointment to lead US antiviral efforts as an avenue of attack.
“Mike Pence literally does not believe in science. It is utterly irresponsible to put him in charge of US coronavirus response as the world sits on the cusp of a pandemic,” the New York Democrat wrote on social media. “This decision could cost people their lives. Pence’s past decisions already have.”
There has been a bitter disagreement between Democrats and Republicans on the issue of coronavirus, with the left accusing the Trump White House of not doing nearly enough to prevent the spread of the illness here in the United States.
President Trump has repeatedly indicated that the situation is “under control”.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
