Another fake hate crime has been debunked by investigators, this time in Washington County, Virginia, after a woman falsely claimed she was raped during a traffic stop.
Dyanie Bermeo of Mint Hill, North Carolina, claimed that she was pulled over by a police officer — or “someone impersonating an officer” — near Bristol, Tennessee’s King University, but just over the border in Western Virginia.
Bermeo, 21, claimed that the incident occurred Sept. 29.
Several agencies, including police from both states, AND authorities from King College, launched investigations into the explosive allegations.
All turned up no evidence whatsoever.
Finally, the young woman “admitted that she had fabricated the entire story.”
Bermeo is now charged with giving a false report to a law enforcement officer, a class 1 misdemeanor.
This is the second fake hate crime exposed this month. Two weeks ago, a woman in Wisconsin was busted for lying about being lit on fire by “four white racists” in Madison.
