Barack Obama wants to portray himself as a politician for the people. Well the American people fell for that the first go round, but are they going to do it for a second term? That remains to be seen. Now Obama is claiming that Mitt Romney's proposed tax cut will benefit the rich, but raise taxes on middle-class Americans. He said, "It's like Robin Hood in reverse. It's Romney Hood."
Obama is obviouslyu confusing tax cuts with his health care law that will tax those making less than $250,000 or we commonly refer to ourselves as the middle class.
Yahoo News reports,
Obama pointed to a recent study of Romney's approach by the independent Tax Policy Center that speculated that, to pay for his proposed tax cut on the wealthiest Americans, the former Massachusetts governor would have to end popular measures like the mortgage and child deductions and the Earned Income Tax Credit—which chiefly benefit middle-class and poor Americans.
Obama's reference to the legendary mythical noble-turned-outlaw was part of an aggressive effort to counter the Republican's attacks on the president's greatest vulnerability—the ailing economy, still sputtering three and a half years after he took office.
Obama said of Romney, "He'd ask the middle class to pay more in taxes so that he could give another $250,000 tax cut to people making more than $3 million a year." He bases this on "an independent non-partisan organization" that "crunched the numbers," yet he never names the group. Many groups have crunched the numbers on his health care law, including both large and small businesses and they have arrived at devastating news.
"They have tried to sell us this trickle-down, tax-cut fairy dust before. And guess what? It does not work. It didn't work then, it won't work now," Obama continued. It's not a plan to create jobs, it's not a plan to reduce our deficit, and it is not a plan to move our economy forward."
But wait Barry. You've had 4 years to try your 'trickle-up' fairy dust, and I seriously mean "fairy" dust. What has that gotten us? Oh that's right we are just turning up from 8.2% unemployment to 8.3%. We also just spent $1 trillion for the fifth straight year. So Barrry, how's that hope and change working out for everyone?
"We do not need—I do not need—a tax cut," the president said.
Well Barack Obama may want to rethink that. Last time I looked he was the one trailing in fund raising. He even gave his own campaign $5,000! But I know this: Everyone can always use a tax cut and the federal government could use a major cut in general, especially in the welfare system and in the Executive Branch with all it's useless and unconstitutional departments, which neither Obama or Romney are willing to deal with. America doesn't need a Robin Hood or a Robin Hood in reverse. It needs a Constitutionalist. The people of America simply need a champion of liberty who will allow them to take care of themselves and pursue their own life, liberty and happiness with their own money.Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter.
