While many wonder if Rep. Allen West is being considered as a possible vice-presidential running mate, West clarified that he was not being considered but did say that a vice-president should have military experience.
The Huffington Post reports,
West based his comments on what he sees as Romney's need to fill the holes in his own resume with a running mate.
"I think that whoever Governor Romney is as a presidential candidate, he has to do his own self-assessment, self-analysis and understand 'where are my weaknesses,'" West said. "Therefore, the person that I have running with me as my 'fox-hole buddy,' if I want to put it in military terms, they have to be someone that shores up where I see my weakness are so we can be a really strong command team, leadership team."
I applaud West's call for that. I'll go one step further and say that I think our President should have military experience. Those that have had such experience are far less likely to get us tied up in unnecessary and unconstitutional wars simply because they know what war is and what it produces. War should always be the last result, but when it is necessary it should have a goal and that should be achieved as fast as possible, then leave. Don't stick around to rebuild and don't send our money to help put into power someone that will actively work against us.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter.
