After Obama’s Energy Crackdown, We Will Resemble California, Or Worse

We will be judged in history for our lethargy. History will judge us as posterity looks back at this period in America with disdain. We will be known as the generation that ushered in the end of America, as was once known.

And all this is happening the same way it did when the progressive Republican disaster Herbert Hoover led directly to the more disastrous Franklin Roosevelt. But it’s worse this time around, for there are multiple millions more stupid people who are evidently much more easily duped by a slick-talking salesman.

How else could an America-hating community agitator get elected – twice?

Some would say this is overly provocative and hyperbolic, but think about it this way: your husband, wife, boyfriend, or girlfriend says he or she loves you—loves everything about you—so much that they wish to change you completely. Yes, honey—I love you so much that I want to change everything about you.

Both Barack and Michelle Obama told us before the 2008 election how they felt about this country. So should anyone be surprised by his new energy-destroying initiative? He spelled it out for us how he intended to kill our economy, but I guess everyone thought it was just so much political theater for his leftist base.

But Obama is not a politician. He’s an oligarch, and his war on coal will have a disastrous effect on this country. If we wish to see our future, we may look at the Soviet state of California.

In California, by 2020, a full one third of all electricity must be produced by “renewable sources.” They have instituted a progressive electricity rate structure – the more you use – the more you pay. They have their own Cap and Trade program “aimed at reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 80% below 1990 levels.” If only we could do the same to the budget!

And, despite being well beyond broke, they still heavily subsidize wind and solar projects. Yet, even after the government “investment,” renewable energy is roughly twice as expensive as traditional.

Politicians in California are driving their own people into energy poverty. “In 2012, nearly 1,000,000 households spent more than 10% of their income on energy bills. In hotter, less affluent inland counties, the rate of energy poverty was as high as 15% of households.”

As is always the case, the Democrats, who have a strangle hold on the state of California, are hurting the very people they claim to care about–the poor–by driving them further into poverty.

And this will be what the rest of our country will resemble if Obama isn’t stopped. The cost of electricity skyrocketing—rolling brownouts and blackouts—the poor made more impoverished, some to the point of homelessness.

This is inevitable. The energy production lost cannot be replaced with windmills and solar panels. It’s impossible.

So is this really what we want: the whole country to look like dysfunctional California, and worse? By electing Obama and then further electing those who haven’t the courage to stand up to him, we may finally end up with the country we deserve.
