A Justice Persecuted for Standing for Truth

Chief Justice Roy Moore is no stranger to controversy. He has faced battle after battle over his faith and the law of the land. He lost his position as Chief Justice of Alabama over a display of the Ten Commandments. Now, the issue of sodomite marriage will likely be his undoing this time.

There is no wonder why such a thing can happen, as even those who are supposed to be Christian and conservative refuse to stand, and those who have claimed to be “Fair and Balanced” continue to misreport the facts. We see this in Fox’s reporting of Moore’s ethic charges.

Now here is the biggest problem: Fox, like most ignorant people, thinks that a judge or panel of judges can make law. This writer, and apparently the editor at Fox, believe that by a judge’s decree, a law is born.  There are two large, glaring problems with this line of thinking.

First is the fact that not all law is Legal. What I mean is that we are not governed by the arbitrary whims of people. If we were, anything could be legal: murder, rape, pedophilia, or anything else our perverse minds can invent. Just ask the oppressed and mutilated women of the Middle East over the last 1500 years.

The only legal Law is the Law of God, and its underlying principles should be the guide for which all law is made. This should be the view and goal of all the Church, in every age. As I point out in my book, without this mooring, we are doomed to man’s tyranny.

Second, the first problem was well understood by our Founders, who wrote:

We hold these truths to be self-evident:

That all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; that, to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men,

Rights are endowed by the Creator. And these rights are unalienable. They are not subject to the whims of the people. They do not come and go with the notions and tastes of the citizenry.  These rights are to be secured by the government for the benefit of all the people.

We also have to remember that this pretended legalization by the courts is a foreign concept to the Constitution.

Article One, Section I, reads: All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.

There is no power to create law in any court of the United States of America. Their only purpose and the only power they have is to declare the law. They can pass judgment for failing to obey the law, but they cannot make any act legal.

And is this not what Chief Justice Moore tried to say?
