There are many people in the United States that are utterly ignorant of the United States Constitution. In fact, it could be said that many of our elected representatives are either ignorant or willfully ignoring the Constitution with legislation they seek to pass. In that vein, our own Publius Huldah has made attempts to educate and clarify the Constitution for readers, making it simple to understand. Now, 2004 presidential candidate Michael Peroutka is launching live constitutional education classes to help you better understand the supreme law of the land.
During the 2004 election season, I recall viewing a debate between Michael Peroutka and candidates for the Libertarian Party, the Socialist Party and the Green Party. Among those questions, I distinctly recall that Peroutka responded to two questions claiming that the Constitution didn't give him authority in those areas and so he would seek to do nothing in those circumstances. I was amazed because it was the first time I had ever heard a man running for the highest office in the land say such a thing…; and he said it twice in one debate! Needless to say, Peroutka got my vote in 2004 and has recently become a contributor to FreedomOutpost.com.
With that in mind, Michael's organization The American View will be starting a class on the Constitution beginning February 6, 2014. The class will be in a live classroom setting that will also be webcast. Not only will this give Americans the opportunity to learn their Constitution, but they will have the opportunity to ask questions as well.
The Institute on the Constitution (the teaching arm of the American View) has produced thousands of graduates in all 50 states w/ the full understanding of the Biblical principles our founding documents are based on.
American View spokesman Jake MacAulay told Freedom Outpost that the reason behind providing the course is to educate the people on their Constitution. "We all know that Christ said 'You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free,'" MacAulay said. "For many people in society today, that's not palatable to them. They don't receive a statement as such. They like to talk political rhetoric, not understanding that the source for all law is God, our Creator, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. So our emphasis is to educate the people by replacing what is currently being taught."
"What we want people to understand that number one, we are creations of our Heavenly Father; number two, we have rights and we want people to understand what those rights are, and those are found in the Bible; number three, the purpose of government is to secure those rights," MacAulay continued. "So if government goes outside of securing those rights, it ceases to be rightly exercising its authority under God, and we as the electorate, who delegate authorities to this government… it's our duty, it's our responsibility to withdraw those powers from those that are in office that are betraying their oath and give them to those that will uphold their oath and keep them accountable."
The course is slated to begin February 6, 2014 and end March 13, 2014. The course will last for approximately 2 hours each Thursday. I would highly recommend this course if you are a homeschooler or know someone who is. The cost is minimum considering what is included.
In fact, by clicking here and ordering the course and entering the coupon code FREEDOM, you'll receive $30 off the course (normally $150, but only $120 for FreedomOutpost.com readers). That's not all. In addition, American View will also be supplying a free student manual.
If you are like our family and find it difficult to be together all in one room for two hours, the course is also available on DVD for a cost of $74.99.
Finally, for those that become instructors, the IOTC offers Full time staff support, available 9-5 EST. Go to TheAmericanView.com or call 866-730-9796 to get started today.
FreedomOutpost.com backs all attempts to help others understand their founding documents, especially when those attempts seek to understand law from a Biblical perspective.
As Michael Peroutka has declared, "God's Word — the Bible — is the ultimate law book and the ultimate guide for all actions of civil government at all levels… (and) it is NOT true that government is separate from and owes no allegiance to God and His Word."Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter.
