In a not so stunning move, Barack Obama's Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to the House Energy and Commerce Committee "Hold me accountable for the debacle, I'm responsible," referring to the miserable failure of the Obamacare website, Healthcare.gov.

The Washington Times reports:

Mrs. Sebelius, under oath, told the packed hearing room that she stands by the key goals of the Affordable Care Act. She said it is a "new day" for Americans who could never obtain coverage before and faced financial ruin because of health care costs.

Mrs. Sebelius' much-anticipated testimony follows that of Marilyn Tavenner, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, before the House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday. Ms.Tavenner offered up a mea culpa for the website's problems, yet defended the overall law.

Several GOP lawmakers have called for Mrs. Sebelius' resignation, and website problems have been eclipsed this week by concerns that many Americans in the individual market will not be able to keep their existing health plans, as Mr. Obama had promised.

OK, great she takes responsibility. What exactly does that mean? Perhaps it's taking responsibility in the same manner that Hillary Clinton took full responsibility for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi. What did that result in? Not a thing.

No one in the Obama administration has taken responsibility for anything, and when I use the phrase "taken responsibility," I mean they have not taken the consequences of their actions. No one has been fired over any of the scandals the Obama administration has been embroiled in.

kathleen sebeliusWhile Sebelius is saying she is taking responsibility; she is at the same time dumping that responsibility on others. For instance, she blamed the Verizon server (interesting that the feds would be using Verizon, but then again, they have been in bed with them in the NSA scandal, haven't they?).

"It is the Verizon server that failed — not healthcare.gov," she said.

Last week, Sebelius took a swipe at Republicans over the government shutdown and claimed that it was a part of the Obamacare website failure.

"In an ideal world there would have been a lot more testing, but we did not have the luxury of that. And the law said the go-time was Oct. 1," she said. "And frankly, a political atmosphere where the majority party, at least in the House, was determined to stop this anyway they possibly could ... was not an ideal atmosphere."

Republican senators and congressmen have called for her resignation. She had the audacity to blast the American people via their representatives. "The majority of people calling for me to resign I would say are people who I don't work for, and who do not want this program to work in the first place," she said.

Since the government is by the people, then our representatives speak on our behalf and yes, you do work for us.

Furthermore, Sebelius is already a lawbreaker who has yet to take responsibility for her actions, and Barack Obama who is to be the chief Executive doesn't enforce the law on his own HHS Secretary!

Back in September 2012, the Office of Special Counsel found that Sebelius violated the federal Hatch Act. What responsibility did she assume? Obama sent her out on the campaign trail the following week acting in her "personal capacity" for the campaign.

It didn't end there. In May of 2013, Sebelius was questioned by twenty-six members of Congress because of her reported actions of soliciting donations from non-profit organizations that are "directly implementing" Obamacare. What responsibility was taken there by Ms. Sebelius? Zero, zip, nada.

Sebelius "taking responsibility" means nothing here. She is merely pronouncing syllables which she hopes will earn her points with the American people and take the heat off her boss, or possibly get the media off the story of Michelle Obama's friend Toni Townes-Whitley and her companies cronyism and what appears to be a quid pro quo. I don't think it will work.

She did say hold her responsible though. I suggest firing her, then making her face the charges for violating federal law and removing any pension she might be receiving from those of us who are her bosses.
