While the media have continued to attack Sarah Palin since 2008 for her conservative positions, she has stood her ground and thrown punches back in their direction. Even when HBO came out with their revisionist history about the 2008 campaign, she was willing to take them on to point out how they distorted the facts. Just this week former vice-president Dick Cheney took shots at Palin claiming that she was a "mistake" in 2008. Well, Greta van Susteren had Palin on and Palin took time to fire back at what she called Cheney's "misfire."

There was talk of the Chick-Fil-A controversy as well as Ted Cruz's victory in Texas. However, Palin was given a chance to respond to comments from the former VP. Greta pointed out how Cheney and his daughter differed over Sarah Palin and when she asked if Palin wanted to respond, Palin said,

He characterized me as being a mistake. Here's where the mistake would have been Greta. I believe it would have been had I not answered the call. I was honored to run for Vice President of the United States along side Senator John McCain. I was honored to accept the nomination from the GOP.

The mistake would have been me just deciding that, ‘Hey I love my 86, 87 percent approval rating up there in Alaska as the governor moving and shaking and watching corrupt politicians and businessmen to go prison for crony capitalism. Working on 16 to 20 percent of domestic energy supplies being able to be increased via Alaska’s resource development. Ethics reform legislation that I was working on — that led to that 86 percent approval rating.

I could have decided, you know, I don’t want to be bloodied up, I don’t want my family to go through what we will have to go through in order to put ourselves forward in the name service to this country. But I did it. It would have been a mistake to have hunkered down — just lived that luxurious…comfortable lifestyle in Alaska, instead We like so many people in this country decided, we will do all that we can in order to defend our republic, put America back on track. And I believe I did the right thing in accepting that call.

I tend to agree with Palin. The only mistake of 2008 was having John McCain, far from a conservative, run for office. Everytime the GOP puts up some "moderate" they fair poorly and McCain was no exception. The only reasons the GOP got as many votes as they did was because of the former Alaska governor.
