We have to wonder just why is it even remotely possible to consider what any football team is named being more important than any veteran? Obama, the greatest liar, coward, and a traitor, of any President should never be saluted nor given the title of President, or even Mr. just due to his lack of attention with America's veterans!
It was Obama who in 2007 said, "We cannot allow our Veterans to be treated this way." Again, in 2009, he said, "We cannot allow our veterans to have to wait such long periods of time for care," or words to that affect. No matter, just where in the world has he been besides playing golf 3 or 4 times a week, having Friday Night Parties with big named guests at the White House, or making statements that he is angry and very mad? However, instead of going to a Veterans Hospitals to show his concern, Obama runs off to raise more money for the Democratic Party!
We have worked at a Veterans Hospital and are fairly sure that had they given drug tests to their employees before Katrina, they would have lost a lot of people. The doctors do the best they can with what they have, and the New Orleans VA is doing a very good job considering they have few real resources to do their job with. The doctors are old and most seem to us that they took that job as a retirement position. Like most VA facilities, they use a lot of young men and women to train them as they go through their time as residents and treating the veterans gives them a lot of valuable training in fields.
Having stated that what we know of the New Orleans VA and their treatment of Veterans does not mean we are favorable of all they do because like any huge organization, you do get times where the veterans are treated like left over Friday meals. On this point, let us express an incident where we know of one veteran who had gone to the Biloxi VA for treatment due to his back injury.
Like most visits to a new doctor, the doctor asked him many questions dealing with why he was coming to Biloxi. At the time, it was due to Katrina wiping out the New Orleans VA. He was given pain medications, but when they did not get to his house on time he called and asked if they had sent them. The answer he got was yes they did, but he would have to see a doctor before he could order his next batch of pain medications.
This veteran injured his back while in service to this nation and he was forced to go back and explain why he needed pain medication. He did this, but the VA still did not send the medication out in time and he had to wait a week before he got his pain medication. At this time, he asked if he could just go to the Biloxi VA to pick up his medication and he was told they would not pay him travel pay unless he had an appointment. He responded that he did not care about that, but when he got there to get his pain medication they said he had to, once again, see the doctor.
The doctor ran him through a series of drug tests to make sure he was not using other drugs. Then the man was told by the doctor that maybe he should try to get off the pain medication because his back was not that bad. This infuriated the veteran due to the fact that he knew he had degenerating disc problems and he told the doctor this. Interestingly enough, the doctor did not know this. This veteran was then sent to a Florida Orthopedic Clinic, some 400 miles from his house, to see the Orthopedic.
Now, to illustrate just how this went way out of line, this veteran was given a scooter by the Veterans Affairs to use due to the fact that his back would cause him trouble when he walked almost any distance. Given this fact, the veteran packed his scooter up and made the long travel to the Florida Clinic, got on his scooter went to see an orthopedic doctor, whom he had never met. The first thing the Orthopedic said when he walked in to see this Veteran was, "You don't need that scooter." This veteran nearly blew a gasket, but kept his cool only to go through the entire visit to have this orthopedic state to him that he did not need the scooter, nor did he need the medicine, nor was he having back problems.
While this does not often happen, it does and most of the time it is due to such a huge number of veterans needing to see a specialist. This veteran went back home and was given an appointment with a neurologist and this is yet another frightening story. Remember that this happened after Katrina and the New Orleans VA was nearly destroyed by water damage. This doctor, whom the veteran met for the very first time, again comes up to him while he is sitting on the examining table and tells him, not asks him, that he has to tell her what she thinks he feels and not what he does or does not feel. The veteran went through the examination and the lady wrote on the report that she found nothing that would indicate that the veteran was suffering from any sort of back problem.
This veteran went back to his records and wrote a letter to his Representatives and Senators, explaining what had gone on and that the people at the Biloxi VA were not giving him the proper treatment. He almost lost his medication, and by the time it all got cleaned up he was using the new clinic in Slidell, Louisiana, where he met a doctor that had seen him before. He explained what had happened and the doctor wrote an order for pain medication, ordered a brand new MRI and sent him to the Pain Clinic. After obtaining a written report from the MRI, he learned that he actually had one disc gone or close to gone with 2 others in bad shape. He obtained a copy of the MRI report and sent a copy to the director of the Biloxi, Mississippi VA and got a written apology from the Biloxi VA.
This story is very true and the copy of the apology letter is still in hand, but this shows just this one instance, prior to Obama taking office, where the VA did not have records for a veteran available to all Vas, so should he be in another part of the nation, he could obtain treatment without all the problems. This all happened during 2007, just before Obama began his run for office. This is why Veterans Affairs just cannot seem to get their act together at times.
Now, since Obama has taken over, we have heard that he has done nothing more than give lip service to the veterans while millions of veterans suffer! This is similar to what a few of the Democrats are now saying about Obama. They have stated:
"CNN's John King reports that Democrats are privately calling President Obama "detached," "flat footed," and "incompetent."
"Forget for a moment that Republican outrage," said King on his CNN show this morning. "More and more Democrats in key 2014 races are calling for the president to get a spine, they say, and fire his Veterans Affairs secretary. And what more and more Democrats are saying privately is scathing, calling the president and his team detached, flat footed, even incompetent.
"Maggie Haberman," said King turning to a panelist, "that's what strikes me, what democrats are saying privately in the wakes of the healthcare.gov problems, they see a president who doesn't want to take command, doesn't want to act fast. Raising the competence question. Some Democrats, who believe in government, [are saying] this White House doesn't appear to have its hand on the lever."
Now we may be able to not just call Obama a liar and coward, but now also, "detached," "flatfooted," and "incompetent!" Just how many other Presidents have been able to show this as their place in the line of men that upheld the Constitution and obeyed the laws? Not Barack Obama and that is for sure!Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter. You can also get Freedom Outpost delivered to your Amazon Kindle device here.
