I spoke with Tommy Roedell, who is a County Commissioner in Woodward, Oklahoma, by phone after receiving an email he sent out in which he questions how Obamacare may affect government employers. Since the Supreme Court has ruled that Obamacare can impose a tax on those who are not compliant, Roedell believes this will affect government entities who are responsible for hiring employees. This would then result in a "double dip" by the federal government as they would tax those who were non-compliant with the Affordable Care Act and then on top of that taxes levied against government employers non-compliant would also have to come from taxpayers.

Roedell wrote to express his concern with the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). He stated, "I am charged with upholding the US Constitution."

"The PPACA was upheld by the Supreme Court on the premise that the Federal Government has the authority to tax," Roedell continued.  "This decision therefore defines the penalties and fees described in the PPACA as taxes."

"Federal, State, County, and Local Governments are large employers that often have 50 or more employees," wrote Roedell.  "These Government employers are required by the PPACA to meet specific requirements in providing health coverage for their employees.  If these requirements are not met, penalties (taxes) are to be assessed on the employer.  These Government employers are tax exempt! The Federal Government has no authority to assess a tax on any tax exempt Government employer.  A large percentage of the US workforce is employed by the Government.  This fact should cause huge funding problems for the PPACA when Government employers are exempted from the taxes."

Roedell writes, "I am committed to upholding the US Constitution.  I will not stand for the attempts by the Administration and IRS to assess a tax on Woodward County without due process."

Mr. Roedell wants to spread the message and get other County Commissioners to understand the abusive and over-reaching power of the Federal Government and asks that people spread this message. He believes this might just be the straw that breaks the camel's back regarding Obamacare.

"It is time for Americans to make a stand to save America," says Roedell. "Those who are corrupt must be served by Justice. Those who have taken the oath to uphold the US Constitution, but do not, must go!"

I concur with his letter. In fact, upon reading the fact that government employers are considered tax exempt, would this not also apply to Christian churches as well? Why then are we seeing the Federal government attempting to impose its unconstitutional authority to force them to purchase certain products for employees they hire? One also has to ask the economic impact this will have on government employers that attempt to comply with Obamacare, costing taxpayers more, regardless of whether or not a non-compliance tax is imposed. This is another aspect to Obamacare that we are coming to terms with, all because people were in a rush to pass it without reading what was in it.

Thank you Mr. Roedell!
