During today's press conference, in regards to the "government shut down" and negotiations with Boehner, Obama referred to any demand to defund Obamacare as "extortion." Then, he went about exemplifying why he is a President that many simply cannot respect. Obama said the following:
He followed that comment that "resonates" with the low information voters, with the following gem of insight:
If you're in negotiations around buying somebody's house, you don't get to say, well, let's talk about the price I'm going to pay, and if you don't give the price then I'm going to burn down your house. That's not how negotiations work. That's not how it happens in business. That's not how it happens in private life.
Mr. President, you have some pretty poor analogies, besides the fact you know nothing of private business or "normal" private life. First, one cannot call their bank and demand an Xbox in order to pay their mortgage, because one signed a legal bank loan document, promising to pay for a service (a mortgage) that they entered into of their own will.
The American people have never agreed to Obamacare, and Congress has every right-every responsibility to de-fund it and get rid of it completely, since it is not the will of the people.
As far as the "burning someone's house down" quote, be very careful. Your felonious Chicagoland thug ideology is showing.
