White New Orleans resident Merritt Landry shot a 14-year-old boy, who just happens to be black, and there is no media fanfare. No rallies, no hoodies, nothing. Landry shot 14-year-old Marshall Coulter in self-defense, just like George Zimmerman. Why the silence from the race baiters?
This case is tailor made for Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. And if President Obama had been able to see past Trayvon Martin, he might have noticed this case too. Why and how did the race baiters miss a case that is so perfectly suited for further driving home the point that white on black crime is a national epidemic, and that the majority of whites are racist? It's a mystery. Or is it?
Actually there is a method to the madness. The fact that 33-year-old Merritt Landry shot a 14-year-old boy is an issue locally in New Orleans. But nationally? It's hardly caused a ripple. On July 26th, 2013, Landry shot Marshall Coulter as he trespassed on his property. Landry told police that he approached Coulter and that the young man made a move, as if to grab a gun. That's when Landry fired his weapon.
Coulter did not die from the gunshot wound, but Landry was charged with second-degree attempted murder. Why no Obama drama? With such rampant white on black racism as the liberals claim, why would they not jump at another chance to prove their outrageous assumptions correct?
The truth is very simple, they don't want to touch this case. There is nothing for Obama to gain politically from exploiting this tragedy. Him saying that if he had a son he would look like Marshall Coulter won't help him this year. Last year maybe, but this case came one year late. But even if the Merritt Landry case happened last year, Obama and company would probably have kept quiet about it in spite of the upcoming election.
Jack Cashill, the author of the soon to be released book, “If I Had a Son: Race, Guns and the Railroading of George Zimmerman,” there are several good reasons this case is not on every national news network. “Trayvon Martin was shot in a battleground state during a presidential election year and for that story to gain traction beyond Sanford, Fla., it demanded a green light not only from the powers that be in Washington, but also the media powers."
Obama and company had nothing to gain in trying to muscle their way into Louisiana, a solid GOP stronghold. The Trayvon Martin case was 100 percent about political exploitation. Nothing more, nothing less. Every race baiter involved jumped in for personal gain. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton got some free air time and added power. They get to keep exploiting their people and keep preaching on the perceived rampant racism and "white privilege" that exists in this country. Even though every word that comes out of their mouths is a lie.
New Orleans isn't exactly a city where the Trayvon lines would work. “New Orleans has never been a city in which incidents are presented as pure ‘black and white.’ It’s always been an odd mixture of people with odd agendas that don’t necessarily conform to national patterns,” Cashill elaborated. “Thus, there are people in that case who identify with Landry that don’t exist places like Sanford, Fla.”
There is no "rich" white people and "poor" blacks to exploit here. New Orleans is blended, and the lines between the classes area bit blurred. And the race baiters can't exploit the conditions. When most people identify with Landry and the position he was put in, there isn't room for bullies like Obama to come in and take advantage of the situation. For the "racist" line to work, there has to be a clear dividing line. And a lie to exploit. Whites are keeping blacks down. They can't use that line in New Orleans. New Orleans is nothing like Sanford, Florida.
When are those who buy the lines of the Obama race baiting machine going to wake up to the fact that they were used? President Obama doesn't care about Trayvon Martin, no matter how much he protested that he did. The Martin case helped Obama, it helped him exploit a case he had nothing to do with, and got him back in office. Win, win. And it took the heat off of him in the wake of serious scandals and allowed our state run media to exploit "race" issues as well. Perceived racism helps a liberal. But this wouldn't work in New Orleans, and the Obama machine knew it. So all is quiet about the Landry case.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter.
