Two weeks ago, I told you about Meriam Yahya Ibrahim Ishag, a 27 year old biochemist who was found guilty of "adultery" for marrying a Christian man and sentenced to be flogged and hanged. Part of the story is that her sentence would not be carried out until she gave birth. At the time she was eight months old and in prison with her nearly two year old son Martin. Today, news has come that Meriam gave birth to a baby girl.

"She gave birth to a girl today. The mother and baby seem to be doing okay," said an unnamed Western diplomat.

"It's a cruel treatment to be in such a situation."

Still bound in leg shackles, Meriam will be allowed to nurse the baby for two years before she will be given 100 lashes and then hanged.

Her husband, Daniel Wani, who is in a wheelchair, was allowed to visit Meriam and their son before the birth. They have decided to name the baby girl Maya, according to her attorney Mohaned Mustafa Elnour.

Daniel Wani holds his newborn daughter for the first time.

According to the Herald Sun, Meriam told her husband before the birth that she would die before renouncing Christ. ""If they want to execute me then they should go ahead and do it because I'm not going to change my faith," she told him.

Wani has appealed to the US Embassy, as well as the State Department for help for his wife.

According to the Union Leader, Daniel's brother, Gabriel, said "the birth is not considered a joyous occasion, given his sister-in-law's sentence."

Wani told the Leader that he doesn't hear anything from the Obama administration, but does get some updates from US Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH).

"I don't hear any news," he said. "I have not heard anything. We're just waiting."

"I hope. I hope. I hope," he said, wishing for Meriam and Martin to be released.

I'm guessing we won't get a hashtag photo tweeted out by Michelle Obama over this injustice. After all, this is Sharia in all its poisoned glory. This is what the face of Islamic law looks like, whether you are a Muslim or not. Those buying into the taqiyyah of American Muslims and terrorist-tied groups like Hamas-CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), are being deceived into thinking this only applies to Muslims, as if that were even a good thing. It applies to everyone from the Muslim perspective.

Sadly, professed Christians are blind to the truth of Islam and Sharia. The UK's International Business Times reports the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby's comments on the issue:

"Our religions tell us that human interactions should be shaped by compassion and humanity, not by death sentences. It is vital that all people should enjoy freedom of conscience and be able to follow their own religion. Christians and Muslims should be able to coexist alongside each other, we emphasize that force and compulsion are not characteristics of either faith."

Oh really? Apparently the Archbishop has never read the Qur'an and is not familiar with the life of Mohammed or his teachings.

Qur'an (8:39) - "And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allah), then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do."

Qur'an (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

Qur'an (9:5) "But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them..."  Prayer and charity are among the Five Pillars of Islam, as salat andzakat

Qur'an (9:11) - "But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then are they your brethren in religion."

Quran (9:56-57) - "And they swear by Allah that they are most surely of you, and they are not of you, but they are a people who are afraid (of you).  If they could find a refuge or cave or a place to enter into, they would certainly have turned thereto, running away in all haste."

Qur'an (2:193) - "And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion be only for Allah. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrong-doers."

Qur'an (3:83) - "Are they seeking a religion other than Allah's, when every soul in the heavens and the earth has sub mitted to Him, willingly or by compulsion?"

The Archbishop needs to get his head on right. There is no "coexistence" with Islam. There is only submission or death.

Meriam is facing death for apostasy from Islam. So much for the "religion of peace," eh? Let's pray that God would intervene in the matter and that He will raise up godly men who fear Him more than men, who will step up on behalf of Meriam and her family and may these enemies of God be brought to repentance or destroyed along with their demonic religion. Amen.
