Courage is a word that means many things to different people, and modern examples of courage seem too few and too far between.  The best example of courage that I can muster is that of a fireman.  Here is someone who is running into a burning building while everyone else is running out.  That, in my opinion, is courage.  To exhibit courage, you do not always need to run into a burning building.  Standing on principle in the face of criticism is its own brand of courage.  Derek Skees has that kind of courage.  Derek was the first person that I ever interviewed.  I was extremely nervous and Derek tried taking my microphone.  We laugh about it now, but at the time I was not amused.  That interview can be seen here.   Derek was asked to speak at the 2013 Wreaths Across America event in Kalispell, Montana, conducted by the Flathead Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol.  As usual, Derek rose to the occasion and really "knocked it out of the park" with his speech on courage.  I have included a video presentation with Derek's speech below.  Believe me, you do not want to miss this one.
