How's that "real world," "pragmatic political" approach to life working out for you, American Christian?
How's it actually shaping and molding the future of your children and grandchildren here in the "land of the free" and the home of the NSA?
How are all o' those mountains of votes and billions of dollars spent on "good conservative" Republicans panning out for ya? (See: Confronting the Gay Orwellian Party: Dragging the Pagan Right out of the closet and into the light.)
How do things like "liberty," "freedom," "justice," "law," "family," and "marriage" feel to you now as they're increasingly separated from explicit subjugation to Christ the King for the sake of...political pragmatism? (See: Who owns America? (Hint: Not "We the People."))
How's it goin'?!
How's this "we the people" can do whatever we want thing treating ya? (See: Note to 'Merica: There is no "God-given right" to worship false gods. Repent accordingly.)
Here's one interesting answer to that important question:
"No, the sky is not falling - not yet anyway - but with the Supreme Court ruling constitutionalizing same-sex marriage, the ground under our feet has shifted tectonically.
It is hard to overstate the significance of the Obergefell decision - and the seriousness of the challenges it presents to orthodox Christians and other social conservatives. Voting Republican and other failed culture war strategies are not going to save us now."
These words were penned by Rod Dreher of The American Conservative and published online by Time yesterday.
And hard though they are, they actually understate the problem, and significantly so.
Christians in America have been lured in and swallowed up for generations now by an explicitly anti-Christian political puppet show production owned and operated by the very corporations and elites now showering their buildings and corporate logos with rainbow imagery in gleeful celebration of America's formal, full-blown profanation of marriage.
The culture is going the way that these rainbow-abusers like because we have bought into their spin on the gospel. (See: Encouragement from Satan.)
We have surrendered the life- and culture-restoring Gospel-fueled Great Commission of Jesus Christ and taken up instead any number of weak, fluffy, emotion-driven, self-centered counterfeits. We've got our Magic Christianity and our Candy Christianity; our Gospel in a Bottle and our Christianity in a Box; all aimed at making us feel better about the surrender of everything here to them because we have our magic "get out of hell free" card and nothing we do here "really matters anyway."
Consequently, we don't take the Great Commission seriously.
As a result of our apathy, laziness, and lack of cultural engagement on Christ's terms, were we are now in a putrid bed of our own making, watching the American Corporate State go full-blown homo-advocate while shifting its political and economic power steadily into full-on Christian persecution mode.
The bottom line biblical (and therefore inescapable) truth is this: Limp-wristed "gospels" make limp-wristed cultures.
Here's another biblical bottom line (and therefore certain) truth: Until and unless we ditch (and repent of having ever embraced) our favorite false gospels and their preferred enemy-enabling approaches to politics, law, liberty and life, we are (and deserve to be) doomed.
Until we ditch those pathetic counterfeits and take up the true, comprehensive, life- and culture-shaking Gospel-fueled Great Commission of Jesus Christ, we will continue to be as limp-wristed and destructive as anyone else in this train-wreck of a culture. (See: The Awesome Gospel.)
So let's lose the self-centered, emotion- and tradition-driven junk and get to building something real right here and now, all by the grace and all for the glory of the Author and Sustainer of all true reality.
Let's strive to take every artistic, economic, legal and political thought captive to Christ, as He has lovingly commanded and equipped His people to do, so that we might have the families, homes, communities and cultures that Pagan Political Right and Pagan Political Left "leaders" and "experts" always claim to want but never can and never will deliver. (See: Art, math, beauty, logic, law and economics…it's all about Him.)
Let's drop the liberty-, freedom-, privacy- and life-crushing gospel of American Corporate Statism and take up the supernatural life- and culture-resurrecting Gospel of Christ the King:
And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." ~ Matthew 28:18-20
