Teamsters Union President Jimmy Hoffa was interviewed on CNN yesterday following Governor Rick Snyder's signing of Michigan's 'Right To Work' legislation into law. This is the same legislation that gives workers the right to join a labor union or not. One would think all Democrats would be all in favor of a worker's right to choose.
He also Tweeted the beginning of what he called a civil war in Michigan:

But it's more than that. Jimmy Hoffa wages a war against his own union workers.
According to the Department of Labor's report from January 2012 the average Union worker makes $48,776. Would anyone like to know how much money Hoffa makes? According to Since those considered to be in the top 1% of income earners in America make roughly $343,000, Hoffa is clearly, by all the Democrat rhetoric, well within the class of "greed," as he earned nearly $294,285 in 2010 and on top of that, another $78,204 in "benefits and other compensation." So Mr. HOffa garnered close to $400,000 in 2010 alone. How many of you Union people are getting that? This doesn't take into account the hundreds of thousands they siphon off to political candidates.
So how does Hoffa respond to the amount of money that he makes off the backs of hard working Americans who make roughly 8 times less than he does? Christian Hartsock asked him and here's his response:
“Well, I think, the answer is we got to have more taxes on people," he said. "I think we ought to raise the taxes on the rich people in this country. And I think everybody should do that. And I think we should have more taxes. And let’s make sure that everybody has equality of sacrifice and we should be paying more taxes just like Warren Buffet.”
"Equality of sacrifice?" Seriously? This sounds Marxist to me. But notice that in his mind he is after the "rich people," completely oblivious to the fact that he is one of them, at least by modern reports he is. On top of that he is calling for the workers to go against the politicians who, in this case, are actually doing something that is in the best interest of the workers, not the Unions.
"If unions are to protect workers from exploitation by greedy business men, why exactly do they need political power? More importantly, if they have political power, who will protect the worker from the union?"
The Detroit News reports:
In the past five years, pink slips have descended upon tens of thousands of union workers in Michigan, while others have seen their health care and pension benefits gutted and wages frozen or cut.
But in many cases, labor's pain stops at the union hall door.
During the toughest economic times for organized labor in decades, union leaders are more likely to keep their jobs and get raises than the members they serve. A Detroit News analysis of U.S. Department of Labor data revealed a growing pay divide between labor bosses and the rank and file who pay their salaries with their dues.
Hoffa and the other Union bosses don't want workers to have a real choice when it comes to Unions. If they do, then they are out of a six figure job. RTW is not a threat against workers. It's a threat against the Union bosses and their political partners in crime.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter.
