The Ted Cruz campaign machine made a stop in Utah on Saturday in an effort to shore up Senator Cruz’s big lead in the Beehive State. However, one of his stops wasn’t specifically for his own presidential aspirations, it was to help bolster the reelection bid of his good friend, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT). At a rally in Provo, Utah Senator Cruz appeared with conservative talk radio host Glenn Beck and former presidential candidate Carly Fiorina to encourage conservative Utahns to support Lee’s reelection bid.

Carly, and Glenn, and I, we are all here for one singular reason and that is to support our friend Mike Lee…

I want to take this chance on behalf of 27 Million Texans and on behalf of 330 million Americans, to thank the people of Utah for sending Mike Lee to represent you in the United States Senate.

I know this man. I know this man in the way that can only be hardened in the heat of battle. That can only be hardened when incoming is coming from every direction. And I’ll tell you when I think of Mike I think of three words principle, courage, and accountability.

In fight after fight after fight in Washington, Washington says surrender, says give up, says you cannot stand you cannot fight.

Republican leadership says stand up to ObamaCare to Obama you gotta be kidding.

And Mikes response is boo.

You know I remember the summer of 2013 when Mike and I traveled the country speaking to rallies all over the country energizing and mobilizing millions of Americans to stand up to the disaster that is ObamaCare.

Washington didn’t like it.

I remember standing for 21 hours on the Senate floor filibustering the disaster that is that is ObamaCare.

And I’ll tell you for every minute of every hour of those 21 hours Mike was standing by my side on the Senate floor.

But there were more newsworthy comments made by Senator Cruz during this speech, and they had to do with his thoughts about the vacancy left on the Supreme Court after Justice Antonin Scalia’s death.

Many conservatives (earlier in the race) wondered if the next Republican President might name Senator Cruz to the Supreme Court bench (still a great idea, in my mind). However, has anyone considered how wonderful a Supreme Court bench with Mike Lee might look? This is yet another reason for conservatives to throw their support behind Senator Cruz for President. As John Kasich argues that President Obama’s choice for the Court (Merrick Garland) would also be on his list of candidates, and Donald Trump extolls the virtues of his own sister for the job… only Ted Cruz is willing to name real conservative, Constitutionalists as options to fill the vacancy.

On the issue of the Supreme Court only one remaining candidate can be trusted. Ted Cruz.

Here are a few other interesting highlights from Saturday’s rally in Utah.
