This has been an eventful week to say the least. One of the blessings this past week was to see how well my friend Joe did in his campaign for county sheriff. That was a very encouraging result which bodes well for November's election. Of course Institute on the Constitution's co-founder, Michael A. Peroutka's win is still being counted. Though I did not prevail, my campaign demonstrated that the establishment Democrats do not speak for a significant portion of the people they claim to lead because more than 35% chose a pro-marriage, pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, pro smaller, less taxing government candidate, and, moreover, this was done in one of the deepest blue States in the Union.

My opponent stated in a Baltimore Sun article that he spent most of his time telling people that Whitney doesn't believe what most Democrats believe. Well 35% of Democrats who voted in this primary disagree with him.  I am not discouraged, but greatly encouraged by what I've seen this week. Yes we have much work to do, but the message of God's Law being supreme, beneath which are the U.S. and then the State Constitutions and below them county charters, is a message that is resonating with many, many voters, and it's a message that is gaining legs in our day as the unsustainable nature of socialist government is being realized by an increasing proportion of the people.

Now it has been interesting to see the attacks of the enemies on each of our campaigns. The slander, the lies, the vitriolic hatred are spewed on internet, robo-calls, and newsprint. One article in the Baltimore Sun last week cited as authoritative, with no question regarding the reliability of the source, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and its attacks. Now this specific Sun reporter was warned by yours truly that the SPLC had been linked, in a federal court, to one of the few acts of domestic terrorism which has taken place in our land in the last decade. I told the reporter that if she used the SPLC as a source and never mentioned its connections to that incident of domestic terrorism, which have been recognized in court, it would clearly demonstrate her complete lack of journalistic integrity. Well, you can read the article yourself and see that she made no mention at all of that connection or of the other shady aspects of the SPLC, nor the fact that the FBI dropped them recently as a source of information on threats within our boarders.

Now these attacks do not come as a surprise, and the more we succeed in proclaiming the message of God's Law as the supreme Law of the Universe, the more the God haters will spew forth their hatred against the messengers. That puts us in good company. Look at Acts 4 where we pick up the story of Peter and John following the healing of the lame man at the Gate of the Temple in Jerusalem.

Acts 4:1-4 provides "And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide. Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand."

Consider what had happened. Peter and John had been used of God to perform this amazing miracle, healing the man born lame, but the political leaders were not happy about this miracle to put it mildly. The text says they were "grieved," but the original language is actually stronger than "grieved." The word in the original language denotes "'to work out with toil,' to manage with pains, accomplish with great labor hence to be troubled, displeased, offended, pained, to be worked up that is, 'to be sore troubled'; so here translated by the KJV, as "grieved."

The pagans were greatly disturbed by the Gospel, and the same thing is happening today. It doesn't bother them if you teach Buddhism, Hinduism or even Mohamedanism, but teach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and they become very upset. What is going on here? If they were consistent they would accept all belief systems equally. Thus, Christianity would not receive any special singling out in contrast with other belief systems. That is never the case.

True Christianity is always singled out. It is never treated equally with the other belief systems. Why is that? Because what we are engaged in is a spiritual battle, and Christianity, being the truth, must be attacked by the enemy of truth – Satan and all his minions.
