Well the past couple of weeks have been great for the Chick-Fil-A franchise. The Georgia-based fast food restaurant chain broke a world record in sales on Wednesday, courtesy of supporters who stood alongside them as their president, Dan Cathy, promoted a biblical view of marriage. But today, we'll see just how the left protests.

You saw the coverage. You saw the pictures and you witnessed an amazing outpouring of support for a company that not only stands for values, but even in the face of being treated disrespectfully and with hate, the company and it's employees took care of each and every customer with respect and dignity. As conservatives from all over America flooded the fast food restaurant there were no incidents of broken things, property damage, fights breaking out, but now we'll be seeing the Occupy Chick-Fil-A crowd today.

The "Homosexual Hate Groups" claim they will be out in full force, yes all 2-3% of them, and let's see how the response will be. Already some protestors had performed vandalism against a Torrance, California Chick-Fil-A, where graffiti was sprayed on the side of the building that said "Tastes like hate" and had a picture of a cow. Obviously this was not a display of love, was it?

I wonder what news will come out of today's protests that are negative. I actually expect it, but I'm hopeful that Chick-Fil-A's conduct and wisdom will be demonstrated to defuse any situations that may attempt to arise.

I admit that in watching much of the slander against Chick-Fil-A it angers me because it is patently false. However, I am amazed that Chick-Fil-A continues to do as the Lord Jesus commanded:

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

The apostle Peter exhorted:

Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

Chick-Fil-A has taken this attitude, "as was demonstrated by Rachel from an Arizona Chick-Fil-A to a member of the homosexual hate group who sought to berate her for even working there.

But more than that, the leadership of the company takes the lead. The company said on the eve of Friday's protest "We understand from news reports that Friday may present yet another opportunity for us to serve with genuine hospitality, superior service and great food."

Christians are following that lead too. Nathaniel Darnell of American Vision writes,

Today sodomites are gathering at Chick-fil-As across America—in particular some opening around the country—and staging protests and “Same Sex Kiss” activities around the stores. (As we’ve noted several times on American Vision, implementing God’s criminal laws against sodomy, if biblically carried out, would not lead to the government intruding in everyone’s bedroom, but it would prevent this kind of flagrant and obscene public activity.)

So what do you do when the lost gather themselves and make themselves their own captive audience? Many Christians today are going to be counter-protesting the protesters in a different way today.[5] They are going to take the Gospel to the sodomite protesters at the Chick-fil-As with street preaching, Gospel tracts, and face-to-face witnessing. This is hard-core evangelism in America, and I don’t know that I would recommend it to just anyone. If you’re tied to a desk today or are otherwise unable to join them, please pray for all Christians engaged in this evangelism, that they would be gracious, discreet, protected, and biblically sound as they witness, and that the Holy Spirit would bless them. Let us remember that in terms of eternity, the purest heterosexual sinner is just as much a son of hell without Christ’s atonement as the grossest sodomite.

“I say we show up, buy ‘em sandwiches, [and] share the gospel while they eat,” wrote Dr. Voddie Baucham.

Hanging out with sodomites, sharing the Gospel? The Pharisees asked Jesus why he was mingling with some of the most despised public sinners of their day, and He answered them, “They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Matthew 9:12-13).

Take a moment and read that line from the company again and remember: This is how liberals defines "hate."

UPDATE:Bomb threats were also called into the Chick-Fil-A in Martinsburg, WV. We can feel the love!
