It seems the comic world is determined to fall head long into the abyss right along with Barack Obama. Just weeks ago both Marvel and DC comics said they would be having one of their heroes come out of the closet.
DC decided to re-release of the 70 year old Green Lantern will reveal the super hero as a homosexual in next week's issue of "Earth 2."
The character, Alan Scott, who was previously married and a father of two, will now be introduced as a sodomite who will give his boyfriend a welcome home kiss in the new comic.
The writer of the comic, James Robinson, claims, "He's very much the character he was. He's still the pinnacle of bravery and idealism. He's also gay."
That doesn't quite make sense does it? No, Mr. Robinson. He is not "very much the character he was." In fact, he is nothing like the character he was. He's missing his sexuality, his wife and his kids. He has become a sexual deviant, not an upstanding family man.
While Robinson said he decided to make the character young again to have a new start and remove Scott's son, Obsidian, who is homosexual. We all know the timing of this could not be anymore calculated with the President of the United States endorsing same-sex marriage and competing Marvel comics producing a sodomite wedding in their issue of X-men.
It is interesting though. While Robinson lives in San Francisco and has a wife, this is not the first time he has written a comic with a homosexual character. He wrote "Starman" in 1990 which featured a homosexual superhero. One might question the fascination with homosexuals in regards to creating stories about them. While I write as one in opposition to it because I believe it is sin against God and that there is nothing loving about homosexuality, but everything degrading in it, it seems that Robinson claims he is writing about "reality," as he calls it.
The New York Post reports,
"I hope he's a positive figure. If there's some kind of kid out there who's reading the comic and who's worried about the person he is, maybe it will give him a positive sense of who he is. Or maybe a different kid will read it and decide I don't need to bully some kind of kid in school," Robinson said.
"We should be preaching love and tolerance," he said.
The problem is that the homosexual community is anything but tolerant. To see an example of such, just look at Dan Savage who has no tolerance for those who disagree with him. While I can tolerate that people make decisions and in my opinion are in need of the same salvation from sin that I am in need of that comes through Jesus Christ, I am not tolerant off those wishing to push their depravity on me or the society simply because they claim they have a right to do so.
Not only this, but comics are still targeted at teen and pre-teen males. Parents must be on guard about the direction of the comic industry, just as they are about the direction of our nation's leaders and television.
In discussing this with a friend today, he informed me of many Green Lantern fans who will never purchase another Green Lantern comic and will more than likely sell of their memorabilia.
Frankly, I don't know why they don't go all out and completely revamp the guy and call him the "Lavender Lantern."Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter. You can also get Freedom Outpost delivered to your Amazon Kindle device here.
