The Pro-life group, Center for Medical Progress had promised that they were not done. They have threatened as many as a dozen videos. All of which reportedly reveal illegal and immoral actions related to the sale and profit of baby parts. Now, a research group has sought the help of the courts.
The Washington Times reports:
The pro-life group behind a series of undercover Planned Parenthood videos accused the bioservice firm StemExpress late Wednesday of trying to "cover up this illegal baby parts trade" after the company obtained a court order blocking the release of footage.
The injunction was put in place to stop the release of CMP's latest undercover video.
The Times continues:
The Los Angeles Superior Court
issued a temporary injunction Tuesday stopping the Center for Medical Progress from releasing any video showing three officials from StemExpress, a company that transfers fetal tissue from abortions performed at Planned Parenthood and other clinics to medical researchers.
The issue that we need to broach is what is the problem? What is StemExpress trying to hide from the American people? It seems only logical that with the release of these videos, the three officials remember how damning their statements were, and now wish to squash the record.
And it seems that CMP's statement has hit this right on the nose.
The Times reports:
StemExpress is "attempting to use meritless litigation to cover-up this illegal baby parts trade, suppress free speech, and silence the citizen press reporting on issues of burning concern to the American public," said the CMP statement.
"They are not succeeding — their initial petition was rejected by the court, and their second petition was eviscerated to a narrow and contingent order about an alleged recording pending CMP's opportunity to respond," the group said.
But, they know that they have these wicked people in a corner and shaken. They only need to keep the pressure up, as there have already been calls for the defunding of Planned Parenthood. These calls have come from citizens and politicians alike.
Senate Republicans — including Majority Leader Mitch McConnell — have introduced legislation to cut off all federal funds to Planned Parenthood, the abortion rights group at the center of a political firestorm over alleged fetal tissues sales.
They are close in the Senate, but the problem is the timing. If we are to see this accomplished, this has to remain a forefront topic through to the fall session. And what we have to recognize is the high stakes involved with this now heated fight.
The Senate GOP bill would strip the roughly $540 million in funding that Planned Parenthood is scheduled to receive and steer it toward other women's health programs, a bid to undermine Democratic complaints about the measure.
$40 Million in tax money. It will stretch the American people to remember the awful things they have seen past their summer vacation and the distraction of the NFL, but if there is a lift on the injunction and the remaining videos are released as promised, there is hope that this legalized murder will be greatly hampered, if not stopped.
