The formal resignation from the position of Secretary of State by Hillary Clinton on Friday ended her four year tenure in that position. John Kerry was sworn in to replace her after a landslide Senate confirmation vote 94-3. Among those who voted against Kerry were Texas Republicans John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, along with Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe. This all took place on the same day that another attack on a US embassy took place.
Clinton's resignation became effective at 4 pm EST when Kerry was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan.
Clinton has sent a letter to Barack Obama shortly before she left the State Department for the final time to thank him for the opportunity to serve in the position.
"I am more convinced than ever in the strength and staying power of America's global leadership and our capacity to be a force for good in the world," she wrote.
As she was leaving and making her way through the State Department's main lobby, amidst workers who were star struck to get a handshake, she told urged them to, "serve the nation we all love, to understand the challenges, the threats and the opportunities that the United States faces and to work with all our heart and all of our might to make sure that America is secure, that our interests are promoted and our values are respected."
For many of us who watched her incompetence on display for the past four years and especially in the matter of Benghazi, her words echo rather hollow as she really hasn't done much to either understand threats or respect the values of America.
to demonstrate just how much incompetence she has about this, on the day that she resigned, a U.S. embassy in Ankara, Turkey was attacked by a suicide bomber, killing at least one guard and leaving one Turkish TV journalist seriously wounded as well as two other guards with light wounds. Reports now have been forthcoming the DNA have identified the bomber as a leftist Turkish group.
Now we have Mr. "Swift Boat" himself in charge of things. Does anyone think Kerry will do any better job than Clinton did? I'm not optimistic.
Clinton is rumored to be setting herself up for a 2016 presidential run, though she denies it.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter. You can also get Freedom Outpost delivered to your Amazon Kindle device here.
