Like many of us cold-hearted and war-hardened veterans, a particularly moving rendition of "The Stars And Stripes" or "America The Beautiful" will render me "misty-eyed." If you have ever taken the time to listen to Ray Charles' rendition of "America The Beautiful," you know what I mean.

On this coming Saturday, April 11th, I will once again saddle up on my motorcycle and make that solitary journey eighty miles north to Bunkerville, Nevada, to visit the Bundy Ranch, as I did one year ago on this day.

As was the case one year ago, I will travel unarmed to the Bundy Ranch. But this year will be different... much different.

Last year, I knew full well that We The People would once again be going into harm's way and some say that I must be nuts to go unarmed, knowing that I have options. But as I rode out last year, I held firm the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King; specifically that non-violent confrontation could achieve more than any other approach to a government gone berserk. And at that time, I still believed that Americans would not fire on Americans unless fired upon.

Many patriots were there that day to include several militia groups from the surrounding states and from as far away as Louisiana and even New Hampshire. And to this day, I truly believe that there are two reasons that we were not fired upon that day; the presence of those militia and the fact that Fox News had a satellite link set on the high ground overlooking the Bundy Ranch.

This year, We The People will be going to the Bundy Ranch because Cliven Bundy has asked us to do so, not to stand beside him in harm's way but to stand beside him and his family in thanks for those who stood beside him - not only during the standoff but all across this nation, freedom-loving Americans gave voice to the cause of freedom from government oppression. And a ranch style Bar-B-Que will be served.

Things change over time.

A year ago, I held firm in my belief that Americans would not fire on Americans unless fired upon. This year my belief is less strong.

PLEASE watch this entire video of the final face-off between We The People and the forces of our government, a video which has been removed by both Facebook and Google every time they can find it. Listen carefully to every word spoken on this video.

And as you watch the video, ask yourself:

Is THIS the face of a bureaucrat from the Bureau of Land Management?

To me, everything about this individual and those with him simply screams: MERC!

For you civilians, "MERC" means: Mercenary - a hired gun. Someone willing to shoot and kill on command with a single allegiance to a large paycheck. And according to unsubstantiated intel, a certain soon to be ex-senator was insisting that they do just that.

At one point in this video, the speaker pictured above insists that only Cliven Bundy and his son would be allowed to cross the barrier. And there is no doubt that had we been foolish enough to allow that to happen, they would have been taken into custody and all hell would have been loosed on all those civilians.

At the end of the video we see the cattle being set free and hear them trumpeting their joy as they run out of the canyon; free at last - thank God, free at last.

And as I watched those cattle pass me by, I thought: How appropriate.

Like the vast majority of the American people, those cattle were celebrating their recently gained freedom to feed and breed, unfettered by any restraints or confinement. And like the vast majority of the American people, these cattle rush forth in blissful ignorance of those who have stood in harm's way to grant and defend that freedom.

And for those of us who stood quietly in awe in that dusty canyon and watched those cattle run free, with the sound of their celebration of their newly gained freedom ringing in the air—to us, The Sound of A Cow was as beautiful as any rendition of America The Beautiful we have ever heard and the misty eyes welling up among us must have most assuredly been due to the dust in the air.
