Oklahoma Police Captain Punished for Refusing to Attend Muslim Brotherhood Linked Mosque


Captain Paul Fields, a Christian, veteran police officer with the city of Tulsa, was punished after refusing to attend a mosque that has alleged ties to the Muslims Brotherhood. He also said that they practiced true Islamic dogma. Furthermore, the captain had the stones not to order any of his officer to attend the mosque either.

Fields was told to participate in something that he referred to as an "Islamic proselytizing event," which he refused based on his Christian convictions.

Jim Kouri points out:

The Muslim event was characterized as the mosque's Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, but it allegedly had nothing to do with appreciation of police officers. According to Fields' attorneys, Law Enforcement Appreciation Day involved the captain and his officers taking a tour of the mosque, attending a meeting with the mosque's leadership, attending the Muslim's weekly prayer service, acquainting the police officers with Islamic religious reading material, and lectures on Islamic beliefs.

 

The event, which was scheduled for Friday, March 4, 2011, which the Islamic leaders said was a "holy day," was also going to familiarize the cops with a white-washed version of Mohammad's life as well as key elements of the Muslim religion and prayers. Originally, the police officers were asked to attend voluntarily, but the majority of officers refused the invitation. At that point the police were mandated to show up at the mosque.

Fields and his legal team possess evidence that the same Siraj Wahhaj told Muslims in New Jersey in 1992, that he wished Muslims were cleverer politically so they could take over the United States and replace its Representative-Republic government with a caliphate and Shariah law.

Fields was subsequently punished for his refusal. According to the Thomas More Law Center, for his refusal, Fields was "stripped of his command, transferred to another division where he was subsequently assigned to the graveyard shift, and subjected to an Internal Affairs (IA) investigation."

However, Fields didn't' take his punishment sitting down either. He sought legal action against the police department. However, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld his punishment. The court ruled that it was not against a free exercise of religion. The court ruled:

Fields argues that Defendants violated his right to the free exercise of religion because the Attendance Order required him to order his subordinates to attend the Islamic Society event and/or to attend the event himself, he refused to comply with it, and he was punished as a result. The district court granted summary judgment for Defendants on the ground that no reasonable jury could find that the Attendance Order required Fields personally to attend the event. We agree. To establish a free-exercise claim, Fields must show that the government has placed a burden on the exercise of his religious beliefs or practices.

Fields also said it violated his freedom of association as well, which is part of the First Amendment. The court claimed that "there was no interference with his freedom of association."

The obvious question then is if he wasn't forced to attend the mosque, then why the punishment? If there was punishment because he would not be forced to associate, how can a court determine that his freedom of association was not interfered with?

And what would you call forcing a Christian to attend a Muslim mosque? That's quite a heavy burden there Tenth Circuit Court! Furthermore, what in the world is a federal court doing involving itself in a local matter? Their ruling it null and void and they have no status via the First Amendment (since Congress can make no law regarding the free exercise of religion). I say that Fields and his attorneys point this out, instead of relying on "precident" rather than constitutional law, and then sue the police department locally with a jury on hand…. one not made up of Muslims, but Christians (who would be Fields' peers).

The Thomas More Law Center then cited portions of a deposition of Police Major Julie Harris, Fields' immediate supervisor, in his favor:

  • The Tulsa Police Department retaliated against Fields for exercising his constitutional rights.
  • Captain Fields had the right to object to the order to attend the Mosque because of his deeply held religious beliefs.
  • Captain Fields was punitively transferred for invoking his constitutional rights.
  • There was no need for Captain Fields to attend the Mosque if he had a religious conviction against doing so and there was no crime to investigate.
  • Captain Fields was the top performing shift commander in his division.
  • Captain Fields' punishment was inconsistent with other similarly situated officers of his rank.
  • The allegations of the Internal Investigation of Captain Fields could not be sustained.

The Thomas More Law Center is aiming to take the case to the Supreme Court, but I have to ask, why? This is a local matter. What business does the Supreme Court or the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals have in ruling on this issue? Both are federal courts. The federal Constitution doesn't allow for the Federal Congress to make any law regarding this, so it isn't their purview to rule on it. It is much lower, like the courts in Tulsa.

It's clear that Tulsa police officers do not believe their mayor supports them, and in light of Oklahoma capitulating (and yes, that is what it is) to the federal government's opposition to their anti-sharia law, I would say that Governor Mary Fallin is on the fed's side too.

Consider that Oklahoma is the recent state of an Islamic jihadist beheading of an American, which the politically correct want to call "workplace violence." Also, consider that the mosque that the jihadist attended was praised by the Muslim-in-chief, Hussein Obama.

Also consider, what if a Muslim police officer was forced to attend a Christian service? Would that have been a problem, or would we have seen the government coddle the Mohammedan?

It's time the people of Tulsa stood behind Captain Fields and put the pressure on local judges to rule in favor of the law and Captain Fields rather than what is politically correct, and not force this to the Supreme Court, which is not allowed to rule on local matters, but only on federal matters. Furthermore, the states should be taking the advice of Publius Huldah and standing against Islam by implementing bans against its practice in their state.

      Folks like you are not the problem and in fact having served in Iraq found most Muslims I came in contact with to be good folks just trying to get by like the rest of us,(Though I found a lot of animosity between Shia and Sunni) but when you have the likes of ISIS/ISIL, Hezbollah, Hamas, Al Queda etcetera then folks see a pattern of subjugation and dominance by Islam or the perception of conquest by Islam.
      Now if you put those terrorist groups aside and say they are an aberrant anomaly and not mainstream Muslims you are left with regular folks who go to their mosques (or not) and get on with their lives so all would seem fine, but unfortunately you then have to defend Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iran, all theocracies which practice persecution of non Muslims such as Yadzi, Bahia's, Animists and in particular Christians, you can understand peoples perception of Islam as a religion of conquest versus peace.
      The sad fact is that we have yet to see a large number of highly placed and important Muslim scholars, Politicians and Royal personages come together as one body and loudly declare to the world and in particular to their own people that murdering, mutilating, conquering or forcing someone not of their own religion to change theirs to Islam is against the Koran, to declare a fatwah against them and excommunicate them from Islam and when said VIP's allow all to practice openly the religion of their choosing and allow them to freely chose to change from Islam to Christianity without fear of being murdered then you might see folks take a different stance. Until such times people are going to harbor distrust and resentment against Islam,

    Recently local police paid a visit to Attleborough Baptist Church because 20 year old Robert Gladwin believed that the church sign was hate speech. So obviously, instead of contacting the church directly and asking to speak to the person who put the sign up… He called the cops.

    What did the sign say that forced Mr. Gladwin to call the police?

    “If you think there is no God, you’d better be right.” Below the phrase were some flames. Obviously the posted message intended to convey the idea that non-Christians were destined for hell. A clear Biblical teaching.

    Somehow, Mr. Gladwin decided that the posting of this Biblical teaching was hate speech and must be dealt with by the law post-haste.

    A spokesperson for the police said: “Norfolk Constabulary received a report regarding a poster outside a church in Attleborough which was deemed offensive by the complainant.

    “National guidance required us to investigate the circumstances and the matter has been recorded as a hate incident.

Last week, in an abhorrent display, the homosexual "rainbow flag" flew right below the American flag at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv. How far is this abominable administration willing to go? As far as they have to. They're crazed, and in the same pathological way that Obama seeks to undermine America in the Middle East, at home, and prop up Islam, he does so through the militant homosexual agenda. He's the lighter fluid to the flames, causing them to blow up everywhere, all by design.

    This new objective by the Democrat-controlled Senate takes immorality to a new level. The militant homosexual agenda is now a weapon for foreign policy, and as reported on Senator Ed Markey's website (D-MA):

    Obama's State Department, the same group that has no problem releasing high level Taliban officials back into Afghanistan, arming Al-Qaeda, and negotiating with Hamas, is now the world's first homosexual police force. How appropriate that Obama's evil minions would lead the worldwide effort to police other nations on "LGBT discrimination." Why would Obama want to close Guantanamo Bay, when it could be used as a prison for those in the world who wish to defy his homosexual police force? No, imprisonment would only be reserved for Christians.

    While the Obama Administration seeks to police the world on all things "gay," next comes the crackdown at home. And it will be with deadly force. President Obama WILL use an executive order to pass the Employment Non Discrimination Act, which will protect homosexuals from Christian influences. Christians will be punished and prosecuted for NOT hiring homosexuals, regardless of circumstance. This is religious persecution, and it will be executed as per Obama's pen and phone. All the while, America, a once bright beacon from Christendom, horrifically becomes a beacon for sin and death across the world via the Obama Administration. God help us.

    Air Force Throws Out Bibles but Forces Observance of Ramadan

    The Air Force has decided to force our airmen serving in Bahrain to observe the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. In case you think I must be making it up, read it for yourselves at Stars and Stripes, the official military news website.

    U.S. personnel accustomed to drinking their coffee on the drive to work will have to put that habit on hold for about a month. It’s one of a few lifestyle changes Americans will have to make during the holy month of Ramadan.

    For the 8,200 U.S. personnel living here, and those serving throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility — including service members, civilian personnel, contractors and family members — the month may require changing some daily routines.

    Navy officials are requiring U.S. personnel to dress more conservatively off-base during Ramadan. Although not a requirement by Bahraini authorities, the Navy is demanding that men wear long-sleeved shirts and women wear sleeved blouses that cover their elbows. Also, men must wear long trousers, and women should wear pants or skirts that cover the knees.

    Base cultural advisers have spent the last few weeks conducting Ramadan briefs to educate Americans about the holy month. Ali Hassan briefed about 150 personnel Tuesday about Islam, the lunar calendar and customs and traditions during Ramadan.

    Hassan encouraged personnel to experience Iftar in a Ramadan tent, many of which are set up at various locations around Bahrain during the holy month and welcome non-Muslims.

    “Make it a point to visit these tents while you’re here. You don’t know if you’ll ever come back to Bahrain in the future,” Hassan said during the brief.

    For the last few years the Air Force has been cracking down on the rights of its Christians servicemen and women (see examples here, here and here), so this embrace of Islam is downright disturbing. The Air Force has repeatedly claimed that it is not persecuting Christian servicemen but only enforcing the imaginary “separation of church and state.” This latest acceptance of Islam seems to throw all of those rebuttals into question.

    Just a couple of months ago the Air Force decided that they wouldn’t allow one of America’s most cherished Christian organizations, the Gideons, to distribute Bible’s to welcoming service people anymore.

    For more than a decade new military recruits at Maxwell Air Force Base – Gunter Annex in Alabama have received a Bible from Gideons International volunteers. But that tradition has come to an end after volunteers said they were told by the military that they would no longer be allowed to personally distribute the pocket-sized Bibles to recruits.

    “They kicked us out,” Gideon’s volunteer Michael Fredenburg told me in a telephone interview from his home in Montgomery, Ala. “They told us, ‘get your Bibles out.’”

    So it’s not okay for the Gideons to give Bible’s to our airmen, it’s not okay for a soldier to write a verse on his white board which is for private and public correspondence, and it’s not okay for Christian servicemen to believe gay marriage is wrong… but it is totally acceptable for the military to force our servicemen and women to learn about Ramadan, to adjust their lifestyle for Ramadan, and to encourage our servicemen and women to TAKE PART in RAMADAN?

    This makes absolutely no sense.
