Of all the nations on earth, the American Studies Association singles out Israel for boycott. By a vote of 2-t0-1, the 1,252 members voted to issue to full boycott. By definition, the American Studies Association is the "nation’s oldest and largest association devoted to the interdisciplinary study of American culture and history. Chartered in 1951, the American Studies Association now has 5,000 individual members along with 2,200 library and other institutional subscribers." What they have done is single out Israel purely as a "protest" for any human rights violations, which are purely figments of the imagination, against the equally fictional Palestinian Islamic jihadists. However, what this vote more than signifies is the American Studies Association solidarity with Islam, with jihad. This is who they are fighting for. Now they're showing that academia is in favor of Islamic jihad and vehemently against Israel. Shame on them.
Academia is one area where Israelis have been in the forefront. This boycott is an outrage, an affront to all that is fair in academia. Academics are supposed to propagate freedom. However, today the focus is on oppression, in the form of stifling individual thought in favor of Marxist "group think," as well as overwhelming support for Islamic jihad, for the anti-Semitism that comes from Islam.
This is what the Israeli boycott is really about. The ASA singles out Israel as the one country to "boycott." Why not Syria, Iran, or other totalitarian Islamic states? Israel is a thriving democracy in the Middle East, the only country in the region that is stable and shares many American ideals.
“This vote to boycott Israel, one of the most democratic and academically free nations on the globe, shows the Orwellian anti-Semitism and moral bankruptcy of the American Studies Association,” Ronald Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress, told Reuters. “The Middle East is literally filled with dead from governments’ reaction to the convulsions of the ‘Arab Spring,’ but the American Studies Association singles out the Jewish state, the one Middle Eastern country that shares American values, for opprobrium?”
The academic group drew further criticism when its president Curtis Marez, in trying to defend the boycott decision, did not dispute that many other nations have worse human rights records than Israel, even its own Middle East neighbors.
This is direct targeting. This is reminiscent of Nazi Germany, the precursor to worldwide Islamic jihad. Not only is the American Studies Association ignoring the realities of "Palestine," they're also singling out the only Jewish majority country in the world for boycott. This is no coincidence. Like so many other anti-Semitic groups, this is the deliberate isolation of Israel via jihadist professors. Anti-Israeli thought and motive in academics comes from Islam today. The "Palestinian" cause is a front for greater Islam.
However, the AAUP, which represents 47,000 members from the nation’s campuses, devoted almost the entire issue of its most recent online journal, the 2013 Journal of Academic Freedom, to the subject of boycotting Israeli universities and professors.
“Is it a coincidence that these academics are singling out the world’s only Jewish-majority country for boycott? Only to those who know nothing of the history of anti-Semitic scapegoating,” columnist Jeffrey Goldberg wrote in Bloomberg. Goldberg also called Marez a “something of a dolt.”
"Palestinian" Authority President Mahmoud Abbas voiced his opposition to such a boycott. This is highly suspect, but when Israel has provided direct aid to "Palestinians" in the past and just this week, advocating a public boycott of Israel wouldn't serve the Abbas's purpose. As of December 14, due to the extreme snowstorm, The Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "The IDF emphasizes that Israel will do everything that is necessary to assist the civilian populations in Gaza and in Judea and Samaria, with emphasis on providing electricity to the power plant in Gaza."
Thus, this further proves an Israeli boycott has everything to do with Islam. The American Studies Association has aligned itself with Islam. There is no plausible explanation. This goes beyond Islamic Palestinian causes, but also Israel's 2006 war with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
"The ASA is more Palestinian, in other words, than the chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization,” Goldberg noted.
“ASA’s anti-Israel academic boycott resolution calls ASA’s 501(c)(3) status into question for many reasons, including but not limited to the act of engaging in an academic boycott not satisfying the requirements of 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code that an organization must be ‘organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, … or educational purposes …’” Jacobson said.
“An academic boycott, which clearly is a substantial activity of the ASA and will be for the coming years, does not satisfy this test,” he wrote, adding that he also believes the decision “discriminates on the basis of national original and religion.”
Without question, this is religious discrimination. The Professors of jihad have aligned with Islam against the infidels. This move is truly unprecedented and mortifying in its scope. To boycott Israel is one step toward announcing the goal of annihilation. Is the ASA advocating another Holocaust? This hasn't been mentioned, but the signs are ominous that objective of the ASA is sinister, truly evil.
On December 4, 2013, the American Studies Association released its resolution, "Whereas the American Studies Association is committed to the pursuit of social justice, to the struggle against all forms of racism, including anti-semitism, discrimination, and xenophobia, and to solidarity with aggrieved peoples in the United States and in the world; Whereas the United States plays a significant role in enabling the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the expansion of illegal settlements and the Wall in violation of international law, as well as in supporting the systematic discrimination against Palestinians, which has had documented devastating impact on the overall well-being, the exercise of political and human rights, the freedom of movement, and the educational opportunities of Palestinians;t is resolved that the American Studies Association (ASA) endorses and will honor the call of Palestinian civil society for a boycott of Israeli academic institutions."
Islamic jihad has invaded the American Studies Association, and higher education. Israel is the main target of their unbridled hatred. This is the great academic purging of the "infidels." Of all the travesties committed by academia, this is the most grievous.
