Steve Stockman (Texas, 36th District) has responded to Ted Cruz' challenge to House Republicans by filing a 19 point resolution to defund ObamaCare. As Americans are quickly starting to learn, Mr. Steve Stockman is not afraid of a fight.
"I applaud the dozen Republican Senators who sent a letter to Majority Leader Reid explaining they will not vote for any continuing resolution that funds ObamaCare. But as Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee have said, 'The House must refuse to fund Obamacare' because every appropriations bill originates in the House and the House is the only chamber that Republicans control. My resolution includes 19 whereas statements that make a compelling case for House Republicans to simply keep their pledge to defund ObamaCare. For example, the resolution recites our oath of office, our party platform's plank, and our Speaker's public promises."
Stockman cited the public perception and added, "Polls show a growing majority of Americans, and a super-majority of Texans, oppose ObamaCare. If Senate Democrats and President Obama choose to partially and temporarily shut down the government over ObamaCare, Republicans can and will win that staring contest so long as they don't blink first. I know whereof I speak because I was in the House when Congressional Republicans went toe to toe with President Clinton in 1995. There are no more excuses for House Republicans to be a part of what Senator Cruz dubbed the 'Surrender Caucus.'"
Stockman understands what is at stake and understands the hard reality of negotiating with liberals… you don't.
Steve Stockman is an "alpha dog" and it's just not in his nature to cower before anyone.
I was in love with a lady bartender in my youth and decided to apply to be a bouncer so I could get closer to her. Yes, I know… young and stupid.
In the interview, the head bouncer, Larry, asked me just one question, "Do you like to fight?"
America, Steve Stockman likes to fight and he is fighting for you. I reported two days ago that he has taken the Obama Birth Certificate fight upon his broad shoulders. Who else would have accepted that fight? We have been waiting 4 1/2 years for someone to step forward. Steve Stockman is the real deal. He is fearless and he surely isn't afraid of Mr. John Boehner,
I know that Rand Paul and Ted Cruz get a lot of press in the Senate, but the House is not without its shining stars. As long as we have guys like Gowdy and Stockman fighting in the House, something tells me that it will all work out in the end.
We have a long, uphill road but America can return to greatness. If I didn't believe that I wouldn't spend my days writing blog posts. There are better ways to make a living.
In the end Steve Stockman is just a man and he could turn on us as many have before, but for now this brash Texan is acting like a servant leader and I applaud that. So many of these people have forgotten who they work for.
There is no price to great to pay for our freedom.
ObamaCare must be stopped NOW.
