Democrat Controlled States Involved in Gun Confiscation

"Gun Confiscation" is a term that should strike fear into the hearts of criminals, not law abiding citizens. But that is exactly what certain states like New York, Colorado and California are attempting to do with "tough new gun control legislation laws." It is no secret that the Obama Administration really, really wants to do the same thing on a national level. Imagine what could happen if that were to take place? That means only "government" would have any guns. Australia did exactly that, and crime actually rose.

  • The research institute known as the Australian Institute of Criminology presents these statistics:
  • Between 1995 and 2007, Australia saw a 31.9 percent decrease; without a gun ban, America's rate dropped 31.7 percent.
  • During the same time period, all other violent crime indices increased in Australia: assault rose 49.2 percent and robbery 6.2 percent.
  • Sexual assault -- Australia's equivalent term for rape -- increased 29.9 percent.
  • Overall, Australia's violent crime rate rose 42.2 percent.
  • At the same time, U.S. violent crime decreased 31.8 percent: rape dropped 19.2 percent; robbery decreased 33.2 percent; aggravated assault dropped 32.2 percent.

Australian women are now raped over three times as often as American women.

In England, they have extremely strict gun laws, and they seem to be experiencing a rise in violent crime, as well.

California is already starting to confiscate legally purchased firearms.

FreedomOutpost.comSimply put, this is how it starts. This is how a government becomes tyrannical, and the sad part about this is that you won't be any safer because only the criminals and police will be the only people that are "armed." This is just another example of how Democrats think the Constitution is just to wipe your backside with.

Back in 2010 my mother was dying of cancer. I had to sell all of my guns to be able to travel from Washington State where I live to Southern California, so I could be with her before she died. It wasn't even a concern because I had to be with her. Now here it is 3 years later, and I can't afford to purchase any more firearms because unlike our politicians in Washington D.C., my wife and I live on a tight budget. For the first time in my adult life, I am un-armed, and this is the one time in history where I wish I wasn't.

In Seattle, Mayor Mike McGinn is trying to do something similar but is restrained by the courts, we have open carry laws in Washington State. So what he is doing is, he is trying to convince business owners in Seattle to join his "Gun Free Zone" campaign. Thereby prohibiting patrons of businesses to carry firearms in stores where "Gun Free Zone" stickers are in the windows. Well, what can one expect from this idiot? He's a Democrat from New York.

It is really quite frightening to me to see all these end-runs around the Constitution, but when only "Government" has the guns...that is tyranny.

Since our boarders are open by the inaction of our government, it should be easy to get what we need from abroad.

Does anyone really think the vast majority of Americans will simply turn in their guns if a law is passed forbidding such weapons? If they are willing to do this, then we are no longer the America of our forefathers, and undeserving of any freedom at all. Just put us into the inner city concentration camps envisioned by UN's Agenda 21. No, I will not comply, and do not believe others should, either, In fact, if such a law was passed, we should do all in our power to prevent such a carry out of orders for confiscation, including internal warfare against our tyrannical government. That would not be treason. It would be righting the ship of state, and taking back our government, reinstating our Constitution, and our Bill of Rights, Maybe at the same time we can eliminate the amendments which are over and above the original 10, especially, 16, and 17.

knowing that my time here is limited, I feel sorry for those I will be leaving behind and its just family it the America I LOVE the one that in the past has given us a freedom other countries only dreamed of, but the future of America has changed and we the people has let the politicians change us from a nation of opportunity to one of a socialist where the government all from birth to death no longer free to make your own decisions but must follow what ever the politicians comes up with to keep this once great nation enslaved by their greed and power, so wake up America before its to late and be counted to either fight for freedom or lay down and worship a government that wants to enslave will take a nation willing to fight at the ballet box for a better government we need a change in DC an term limits would go a long way in improving our government and their power grab. I was proud when I had the opportunity to serve my country for 24 years. retiring in Jan 31 1971,and now the present administration considers us as terrorist if a terrorist is one who loves his country and is willing to give his life in its defense then call me a terrorist and I will wear it with honor. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND MAY OUR FLAG FLY HIGH AND FOREVER REPRESENT FREEDOM/

We now have a Berkeley law professor teaching, and a federal circuit judge ruling, that the executive branch is above the law.
The executive branch coup against America has succeeded. The question is: will it stand? Today, the executive branch consists of liars, criminals, and traitors. The evil on earth seems concentrated in Washington .

Obama is the worse thing that has ever happened to America.

  • afanaglenn

All I can say is that Californians deserve it, the government taking away all of their guns. Since Obama took office, the constitution doesn't mean much. Government has become tyrannical. The democrats have become a criminal enterprise. As much as I wouldn't want to hurt someone, I don't know what I would do if they came to my home for my guns. Californians think crime is bad now. Well, they haven't seen nothing yet. Only the criminals are going to have guns.

  • Average Joe

It realy is simpal. If they lose 2 guys for every one gun owner stripped of his guns. The collection will be over before they can clear one city. No matter where they start, THEY will be surrounded won't they.

What our Founding Fathers thought about GUN CONTROL and TRAITORS in Govt:

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms, disarm only those who are neither inclined, nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants. They serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
    -- Thomas Jefferson, 1764

What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.
    -- Thomas Jefferson

Those who beat their swords into plowshares usually end up plowing for those who didn't.
    -- Ben Franklin

Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property... Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them.
    -- Thomas Paine

A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.
    -- George Washington

Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined... The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able might have a gun.
    -- Patrick Henry.

Are we at last brought to such an humiliating and debasing degradation that we cannot be trusted with arms for our own defense? Where is the difference between having our arms under our own possession and under our own direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?
-- Patrick Henry, 3 Elliot, Debates at 386.

The Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms.
-- Samuel Adams, debates & Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 86-87.

The right of the people to keep and bear... arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country...
    -- James Madison, I Annals of Congress 434 (June 8, 1789).

(The Constitution preserves) the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation... (where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.
    -- James Madison.

The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed.
-- Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers at 184-B.

To disarm the people is the best and most effective way to enslave them.
    -- George Mason

The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States.
-- Noah Webster, An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution (1787) in Pamplets on the Constitution of the United States (P.Ford, 1888)

[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or the state governments, but where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the People.
-- Tench Coxe, Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.

Where are all of the pro-gun organizations for these 3 states?
What are all the pro-gun organizations going to tell their members and gun owners, are they going to tell them to turn in their firearms or are they going to tell them to take a armed stand and when and where or will they just say nothing.

Every time this government threatens we the people with guns and ammo laws we the people should threaten them with an armed revolution, what's the diff one threat deserves another.
We the people will evaluate an armed Revolution against those who makes laws that infringe on our right to bear arms.

It`s time to take to the streets and bear arms at our State Capitals and elected congress peoples office when these kind of threats are made. We will have an outdoor gun show on our State Capitals lawn.

    • 2BRKnot2B

NYSR&P, and NYS SCOPE, are working tirelessly to overturn the Andy 'L'il Duce' Cuomo U.N.-S.A.F.E. Act. Other organizations around NYS have sprouted up & are working with us. It is high time we all came together, tho'. We must be united in what we do. NYS should be having an armed revolution against Andy 'L'il Duce' Cuomo, and his leftwing minions already, but instead, we work through the courts, and within congressional office(r)s. Unfortunately, NYS is so far gone left that without an uprising, nothing may come of it, unless the SCOTUS is willing to rule on the meaning of the word infringed, Unfortunately, all organizations at the local and federal level are afraid to touch that gem. I am not sure why they fear it. With the meaning thus known, the politicians will know what they can, and cannot do. With the meaning of infringe spelled out, they will be able to do absolutely nothing in regards our gun rights. Heller determined individual right. McDonald determined the states & localities share the same level of scrutiny as the federal government The meaning of infringe should seal the case as to what the government may & may not do, which, if properly defined, is nothing.

    • v steve

Well good, yes you are going to need all the help you can get in New York that is for sure and will most other states as well. To bad Cuomo isn`t thrown out. You are right and I agree that all pro-gun organizations should come together under one umbrella, I think that would give us a lot more power. It`s amazing how the definition of infringed has a different meaning for politicians than it has for the 2nd Amendment.

Here in Illinois we will be fighting Governor Quinn. On August 18th, Governor Pat Quinn signed a new gun safety law that requires background checks for all gun purchases statewide as well as the reporting of all lost and stolen guns for the first time in Illinois history. This major legislation was a key priority in Governor Quinn’s 2013 State of the State address and is part of the Governor's agenda to improve public safety across Illinois. Safety Right.

Also in Heller Supreme Court case (the Court also noted in its decision that Second Amendment rights are subject to reasonable limitations). Illinois Senator Durbin is using the suprems courts reasonable limitations for his anti-gun propaganda. One thing we do know what is reasonable to one person isn`t reasonable to someone else, why the Supreme Court chose to use language like that is beyond me. Good luck.

    • 2BRKnot2B

"Reasonable restrictions" was noted in the opposition paper, not in the judgment rendered. Just because the opposition says it is so does not mean it is so.

    • v steve

I hope you are right. I didn`t get opposition paper out of his e-mail. May be I should have known when he said the court also noted, does noted mean opposition paper? His e-mail below.
Thank you for contacting me about gun violence prevention. I appreciate hearing from you.

Americans are entitled to own and use guns responsibly. The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees this right. In 2008, in the case of District of Columbia v. Heller, the Supreme Court struck down the District’s handgun ban and affirmed Second Amendment rights. However, the Court also noted in its decision that Second Amendment rights are subject to reasonable limitations.

Within this context, we must work to pursue policies and enforce existing laws to protect Americans from becoming victims of gun violence. Strong penalties for violent crimes involving firearms should be part of any effort to reduce gun violence. I have consistently supported tough crime control and prevention initiatives since coming to Congress.

I support efforts that address illegal possession and use of firearms. Common sense restrictions such as bans on multi-round magazines and assault weapons are supported by law enforcement officials who patrol our streets. I also support universal background checks to prevent the transfer of firearms without a background check by non-licensed gun sellers.

We must institute common-sense limits, such as barring those with a history of mental instability, those with a history of violent crime or who are subject to restraining orders, and those whose names have been placed on a terrorist watch list from owning weapons. Straw purchasers and gun dealers should face firm penalties. There should be limits on how many firearms may be purchased in one month. Those who own firearms that are within the reach of children should have protective locks on their weapons.

Although we may disagree on this issue, I will keep your thoughts in mind as the Senate considers gun violence prevention measures. I will continue to uphold the right to bear arms and do not seek to diminish the ability of Americans to do so. We must strike a balance between protecting our constitutional rights and preventing senseless acts of violence that have led to the loss of countless lives in Illinois and across America.

Thank you again for contacting me. Please feel free to stay in touch.

      Richard J. Durbin
      United States Senator

It is unfathomable to me how people willingly allow the same entity the 2nd A strongly and clearly warns that they SHALL NOT INFRINGE, to tell us that, well, yes, they are allowed to infringe.....

    • v steve

The way I see it there are several reasons for that. One being that both incumbents and candidates/nominees must be questioned as long and as hard (and their records likewise examined) as is necessary to determine their general philosophy as it pertains to law and their legal philosophy and to their views and values concerning the Constitution. Only if the positions and answers of a candidate/incumbent are genuinely Constitutionalist should he/she be approved for office by “the People.”

When a congress person is in for several terms and have achieved a satisfying amount of money to their wants and have a satisfied amount coming in monthly once they have achieved this it gets boring for them so they turn against the people to control them because they don`t want to loose their money making position. A lot of them are multi-millionaires and some are billionaires where did they get this money when their position only pay 100 thousand + a year? money power and control.

Come-on people!! If the Dems confiscate the guns we'll be safe because if the Dems make guns illegal, criminals won't be able to get guns. Look a the illegal drug example. Until recently it was illegal to possess or sell drugs and look how well that worked out.
There have been fewer addicts and you can't get drugs anymore and the criminals can't deal drugs because the Liberal Progressive brilliant Dems made it illegal!!!
    Wait a minute.........DUH!

    • gfr

That's a good point. In California marijuana use has been decriminalized in the face of a federal law against it. Maybe a gun ban would eventually result in everybody having ready access to automatic weapons?

  • DJ

Only a fool will obey those gun free stickers. Our rights take precedents over a property owners. That's why it is "concealed" carry.
